i really dont see that such decisions could be made with 6 mths of football to play. any of those listed could turn shithouse, likewise those not on the list have every oppurtunity to turn their game around.

Right here, right now
You really think J Smith, J Wright, El-Abd, Whing and Dickinson have impressed Poyet? ???
Brezovan has played 2 games for fucks sake!
But Poyet knows Brezovan from their time at Swindon together, hence why he is here now.

Anyone who signed a two year deal or over under Slade will stay. Lets be honest who would take them ?

Whing hasnt had the chance due to injury, and im not sure whats going on with J Smith. But Jake Wright must be given a game at CB!! under Poyet before he can fairly be let go. I've said this many a time, at Orient in the JPT, his one game playing center half, he was the best player on the pitch by some distance and most others at the game agreed!
As far as the Ellington suggestion, we could do a lot worse, i remember a few years back where Wigan had him and Jason Roberts, and was extremely impressed that day!

J Smith is young, J Wright has been injured, El Abd has been a regular under Poyet and done ok, when Hoyte goes back to Arsenal Whing is our only right back and Dickinson is our 3rd choice striker.

I'm saying, have any of these players impressed Poyet?
Maybe El-Abd has been alright, better than he was under Slade, but still not top League 1 standard (McNulty is our only defender that is)
Whing has been injured but in the games he's played he has been woeful. So, Poyet will bring in replacement RB's, obviously.
Same goes with Dickinson.
I don't recall Smith being in a single squad.
If Wright doesn't get fit soon i can see him being shipped out on loan in January.
