Most people don’t play Monopoly correctly though. It’s a lot better if you play it by the actual rules. I only discovered this in recent years

Monopoly has as many different rules as pool tables in pubs used to. I only play it properly when I win.

The proper rules make it fun, “house rules” don’t. It also makes the game go a lot quicker.
