I've been looking on here recently, they have lists of puppies and proper breeders and lots of info. I was looking on this site as our Springer died in the summer but we wont replace her now as our other dog is too old and poorly to cope with another.

As Race said, the best place by far is the champdogs site, which is used by most reputable breeders.
Possibly also see if there are any breed dedicated societys/associations which may also hold puppy lists.
Never buy from newspaper adverts as mentioned, as these will unlikely to have been heart/hip/eye scored and may not be KC registered, and thus very little control on breeding.

Is your other dog a Springer? Or did the one you had wear it out and turn it into an old poorly creature?

Springers never stop, they are one headmental animal for chasing, sniffing, and running. Do they EVER rest?

www.itsaspringthing.co.uk is excellent.

i got my first springer spaniel puppy in june 2007. i got her from someone i knew in our village who i knew was expecting a litter.

she has been wonderful - great with the children at home and just wonderful to train.

hope you get a lovely one but i would steer clear of actual breeders if you can as its just a business to them. try and find someone who is just having a litter because they want to have a puppy from that mum.

also having had rescue dogs before - i would be very careful. there are good dogs out there but you have to make sure. many of them are rescue dogs because they have problems.

have fun!

The other one is a Weimaraner and he was the headmental when he had the energy, not the Springer! Our vet could not believe how laid back our spaniel was, she was as good as gold and liked being bossed by the other one which was a good thing cos I dont think we would have coped with 2 looneys!

They stay mental for about 8 years. Fantasic dogs, but they seem to stay mad like puppies forever. It was only when our had his bollocks lobbed off at about 8 years old (no choice either that or the main jab) did he calm down a little. Still went on for another 7 years bless him.
