Four Four Two has gone down the pan.

I just get the Times on a Monday, the football paper in that is fantastic.

FFT.

On a sports note, I also subscribe to Boxing News.

Do you think it's gone downhill in the last year or so?
Or is it just me?

Some of the stuff is a bit wank and seems to just be filler but I like the majority of the mag.

You get decent coverage of the 'lower' leagues, especially now they sponsor Swindon - did you see the reference to Brighton being a town full of poofs in this month's one?

Too many adverts at the back but I know they have to take these for the money.

On the whole I don't think it's gone downhill but it has definitely changed.

It's hard to keep a magazine fresh after that long. I think FFT do a decent job. The 'big-name' interviews can be a little tedious, but as you mention the article on Swindon is always good.

I think the magazine would be better if they took a slightly more cynical view on the game in some areas instead of sucking up to the big boys. They could also do with a bit more humour in the articles.

World Soccer for me - I subscribe.

I buy 442 now and again, but I always feel let down when I read it - it's not as good as it could be - although having said that the latest issue with the 100 greatest players isn't the worst one this year

I think that's exactly how it's changed. When it started all those years ago it was like a breath of fresh air and they could take a few liberties with the writing style. As time has gone on and they have become a bit more 'respectable', the writing style has become a bit more 'safe'.

Still a good read though.
