I think a lot of people have suggested the club give out free tickets to local school kids but the club say this is not possible (I think because they have to pay the travel voucher section they would be giving them away at a loss which is fair enough).

I was thinking couldn't we have a 'Sponsor A Future Fan Day' next season where maybe the club could reduce kids prices to say a fiver and fans could donate a fiver to a fund. However much the fund raises over the Summer - the club give away that many free tickets to local schools.

Will we get a picture of them? You get one when you sponsor a rescue dog. I'll do it if you get a picture.

'having been to Withdean twice, little Tommy has decided that Man Utd are the team for him as he can watch them most nights on the telly at home where it's warm and if his dad has a few beers, he gets a better atmosphere

A few weeks ago, I saw a ~10-year-old walking to Withdean weaing a Brighton shirt, Man United jacket and West Ham sports bag.

A floating voter, if ever there was one.

Its a good idea....we have to try something to get the next generation of fans hooked on the Albion....although based on recent Withdean Performances should we not throw in travel to away games :)

that's pretty normal tbo, my two lads have packed their kit this morning for after-school football. One has England shirt and shorts with Albion socks, the other Albion shirt, with Morocco shorts and Brazil socks!

Hmmm its a tough one this isn't it. Great idea in principle Richie (and loved your article on the Anya bags in the Argus  ) but I think the clubs work with children is pretty darn good given its restraints (ie Withdean/funds and financing)...

I'd like to think when we get Falmer an idea like this will be well worth while...

Will we win the chance to go to a children's sponsor afternoon dinner party near the season's end if this comes about?

Yeah! And will it be upstairs at Maccy D's?

I want to visit the kitchen! ME! ME! ME!

Um, i have refused to set foot in one for about 18 years now. Could we make it elsewhere? A park, a picnic box, a massive bag of balls, some giant dolls (one of which hides a drugged man), dogs on the rampage, skipping ropes, canes and plastic moustaches. An agreeable father or two as chaperones for the youngsters and us.
