What a bloody awful game that was. Crappy plastic thingummies that made your pen slip just as you were about to finish the drawing. And get this the pens were cheap biros that blotched about 30 seconds after use.

I never had one and never wanted one.

My favourite game was the football game of that era had to be either subbuteo or the football game with batteries, where your men move up and down the pitch.

The long plastic thing was the worst. You'd just build up a nice head of steam with the pen, then fail to navigate the sharp corner, and that was that. Spun off, ink blob, RUINED!

Well I did leave the plastic remains of the Spirograph in the loft of my last house when I moved out, someone else has to put up with it now.

I used to get a bit carried away with Spirograph, and would usually end up carving big holes in the paper. It was an early indication of compulsive-disorder type behaviour, as I'd whirl the pen round and round and round like some kind of dervish, until I was breathless and sweaty from exertion.

Mum still put them on the fridge door though.
