These are contact sports and this happens. A lad was taken to hospital from rugby training yesterday - he caught his studs in the turf and his leg carried on twisting.

Best of luck to the boy. Glad it was a 50:50 and nothing malicious in the tackle.

Hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Tell junior that Tank broke his leg as a kid and it didnt stop him! Kids heal pretty quickly too. (And god help you if junior will be anything like Tank was in platser 7 years ago......I would have happily broken the other leg!)

Our boy plays footie and luckily so far has only had a grazed knee, I dread watching them play and hearing boots connecting with bone, cos half the time their shin pads arent on properly!

Make sure you go out and buy a knitting needle as no-one has them these days and your leg gets very itchy!

Also, console him that in years to come he'll be able to use it as the reason why he "never made it" as a pro (assuming he doesn't of course) when discussing his amateur career on NSC!!

Does he get to keep the x-rays? He'll be proudly showing them off in years to come!

Would Tank be able to pay JBH a visit? I'm sure that would really cheer him up. :clap2:

I suggested Beachy contact the club and see if any of the local players could pop in and visit him.
I believe Alex likes Albert Jarrett.

Poor thing - but he will feel better each day - the pain and cramps in his muscles will get much better and soon he should be haring round on his crutches enjoying all the attention. I think these things are far worse for the patients - kids are very resiliant.

Poor kid - hope he recovers in record time, and doesn't get too fed up while doing so. Well worth trying to get a visit from one of the players, I'd've thought.

Sorry to hear that.

Hopefully he'll make a full recovery and get back to playing again soon.

Beachy, I have a spare GameBoy Advance if Junior is very bored, with lots of games. Happily loan it for the period he is immobile

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for all the great messages of support which Junior has read.

Much better news today he has now had a full cast fitted as the swelling has stopped and a brief lesson on crutch control so he is now back home.

Nice purple cast as well !

Needs another check up early next week and can put no weight on his right leg. He is also very sore - BTW thanks for the tip on knitting needles ( Mrs Hut has some readily available).

Living room now scattered with play stations, game boys and match magazines to keep him occupied.

I'll work from home a few days this week to keep him company and also gets me out a meeting in Cardiff !

Get well soon. Tell your dad that the best thing for broken legs is plenty of ice cream and a big bar of chocolate.

Broke mine a few years ago. After being out for 2 months with knee ligament trouble I made my comeback for Brightstone saturday side. I made it through near on 6 minutes when I tackled someone who was through on goal. To my horror he did not see the fact that I took the ball off him and casually tried to bury my shin into the back of the net from ten yards. Hurt like hell and ruled me out for a season as it was a bad break.   Did get most consistent player of the year though:lolol: .

Hope he gets better soon and it was nice to finally meet you Saturday mate.

bad luck mate - must have been awful for you watching from the side. Spare a thought for the other poor kid in the tackle. I accidently broke a mate's leg in an inter class match at school and felt terrible for ages.

Be careful with the knitting needles - if he cuts himself it could become infected.

Hi Beachy,
Glad Alex is back home. Regards from Ben and Olivia. Still think it's a poor excuse not to go to Cardiff. We won't run away and could hit them with the crutches. :lolol:
