Probably not a popular view. But IMO Beckham is still one of the few class acts in a white shirt. I'll get my coat.

not bad. undone by brilliant through ball for the first and a very good freekick/header for the second. we had as many chances, especially Agbonlahor and Barry in opening 10min. we lack that killer instinct up front and a bit of confidence maybe. Spainsh were really class, i think we held them well.

oh yes, and Crouch is actually a bit shit now foriegners know who he is and how to play him.

He was awful, gave the ball away far to many times. His first touch was incredibly crap. Didn't get forward and when he did he misplaced a pass, and he never had a shot! My god I wish Gerrard was fit tonight.

He's a man utd player, he's arrogant, he's deluded (claimed man utd ended chelsea's dominence over the premiership! You play for man utd - who have won 10 out of 15 premiership titles, you ignorant prick!) and he simply annoys me.

having watched the 2nd goal and the action of Upson made me wonder why we think we have problems with Elphick and Hinshlewood in central defence,.

You are aware that Gerrard has ben consistently shit in an England shirt for YEARS now?

Fair enough, Carrick was below-par and quiet tonight, but he certainly wasn't our worst player.

I remember how annoyed and frustrated many Brighton fans around me got when the Dean Wilkins side of a year or so ago used to try to retain possession and work an opening. I hope those of you that fall into this category are watching this footballing lesson tonight.

Trouble is England spent some of the time that they had the ball trying to retain possession and work an opening, and they were about as successful as the Wilkins side you refer to.

None of our players could keep the ball, or guide it to another England player without a low-percentage hopeful pass. England tried that same old methodical shite, with no guile involved. Too predictable, too well cut out by Spain, and never going to win anything.

Sorry, but if those are the tactics, we need to make a total change asap.

SWP and Becks were the only half-convincing England players.
