That was amazing. Never seen footage of the pre-launch moving of the thrusters and rudders, makes it al much clearer how things work now. Shame only two more launches planned (I think) for this machine.

They said it was Discovery's last one..

Awesome. Never knew it was that fast.

Was doing over 12,000mph about 3 mins later.. :lol: That's some acceleration..!

Watched it last night, great viewing. Shame the yanks have fallen back on their space program, if they kept it going we would've had a man on mars by now.

The Russians will win this one. I heard earlier in the week a report onthe training programme. Cosmanoughts kepted in confined captivity after 9 months were set tasks for a couple of days before they return to their confined captivity until October - this is to mimic the experience of the 9 month journey to Mars,

Give it 5 years and they'll be there ....

yeah the BBC Technology website has updates of that Confined Mission, bloody hope it happens in my lifetime!
