No, they were fine. They bought a good number with them and supported the team fine. You're only saying they were "shit" because, ultimately, they were on the winning side today.

What I believe is being said here, is that as an away support of 600 strong, they only made any noise when they were winning. Actually, worse than that - only when they were scoring.

Whereas the 5,000 strong home support regailed the lads with chants and cheers for 90 minutes? I think it's incredibly ignorant to criticise the away fans of something the home lot were guilty of aswell.

Ironically, I don't think the atmosphere was too bad at all. The Southend mob gave the usual "does your boyfriend know you're here" which is so outdated, they should be ashamed, but other than that, they were ok. They shouted "Yellows" alot, for example. They're no better or worse than anyone else.

ANYONE that comes down to that SHIT stand, whether they travel for an hour, or five, in my opinion are good fans.

I sat in the north stand today. I thought the singing in the South Stand was pretty good. The singing section were pretty impressive when we conceded!

Immediately after both the first two Southend goals, the South Stand were singing support for the Brighton, whereas the Southend support couldn't be heard. They didn't sing for a whole 90 minutes?
Well, if that now means that the southend support was outstanding, then you have a very unusual way of comparing.

Even after being taunted for not singing they were quiet - that's almost unheard of!

Good turnout but some of the quietest fans around (considering their numbers). They finally got their Covonia out and cleared their throats for the last 2 minutes (after they scored obviously).

how can some people say the home lot dont sing ?
H block wasnt a bad atmosphere today , you was either in family stand or north stand i take it ?

The H block doesn't represent the south stand as a whole, and again, the f***ing tosspot STH's in front of me, looked back at me with disgust for shouting abuse at refs, and at the goalie for not looking at teh mofo clock behind him, for shouting COME ON ALBION! or SORT IT OUT LINO!. If they don't change they're minds about where they want to be, Withdean or a Library, they're in for a long hard season of me behind them shouting, and comments about not being abel to hear after the game ;):yahoo:
