I think it's more to do with how the opposition reacts to being a goal down... especially at home.

Right now we are 'weathering the storm'... if we were a better team, we would be looking to get them on the counter.

True, but we let the opposition come at us more than others which tends to hand the advantage over. It's all about momentum.
