The way I see it, if we (somehow) win it, we may regain some of our confidence we seem to have lost. But, if we lose it, we are on a bit of a losing streak and may have another shit christmas (like we usually do). Or, am I just being overly negative? :lolol:

Nope. Win and we can regain the momentum we had last month before the FA Cup came along. Lose and confidence will be the lowest it has been for quite some time

I'd be interested to know how many points we have dropped in the last 10 mins of games this season due to cock ups, lack of concentration and incompetent officials. As to the Saints game, I am expecting us to lose, they are on fire at home and we lack confidence and the ability to close a game out at the moment

It's the biggest to date, Saints are not a poor side but we shouldn't go there with any fears. Charlton are a decent team, look what happened there. Sheff Wed are a decent team, we just got unlucky. We took Peterborough apart.

If we play to a decent level I can't see us getting defeated.

There are no 'certainties' in football. If there were, then bookies would be out of a job. Last year, we were struggling, just got a new manager who didn't know the players, Southampton were on an 8 match unbeaten run and we won convincingly. Anything can and will happen which is what makes it exciting. We've got every chance - having said that I think it will be a draw.

This could be our next Charlton. Look at the swagger that a result against them gave us, A win there & we'll be back on track.

I think it's a massive, massive game for us. A point would be OK and possibly what we'll leave with. I thinking taking 3 points of Southampton, considering are recent performances is quite an ask but if we manage it, it will be a massive, massive confidence boost.

Unrealated to Christmas. Our games over christmas are not to bad.

Big Big game though, probably biggest of the season so far. Lose and can make a very big case of no return v Cocjester and Hudds.

Win or draw and I believe we can then get back on a run.

very important to get a result here. the opposition is unimportant, we just need to get back to winning ways.

Definitely the biggest game of the season to date. By some way as well.

It'll be a cracker, whatever the score is. It definitely won't be a 0-0, can tell you that much. Just hope our defence holds together a bit better than last couple of weeks.

I'm off to put a bet on 0-0 now!

What on earth are you talking about? 'Somehow'?? We're a good side at the top of the table who have lost an away game (not by much - just caught when pushing to get on level terms and down to 10 men) and who dropped points at home by being too attacking at the end. We could easily win this handsomly if everything clicks. Get some perspective.

It is an important game because the gap has been closed and we need some confidence back - but we are by no means of on the rope. Get a grip.

they might see it as a "special" game but to be quite honest its just another game with a team from just down the road

but I still hope we cream them 3-0

It took us 2 legs and a penalty shoot out to beat a conference south side and we lost and draw respectively to two average/poor teams in our league. Even Gus admits we are playing poorly. So I think I have 'some perspective'
