I love to sit out on my wood deck of a summer evening here in Japan and listen to the bell-ring crickets (suzumushi) chirping. As a kid in England I used to hear this sound coming from people's gardens sometimes in crap American tv soap operas and thought it was so cool.

One of the better things about living in Japan. You can hear it here Tim's Takamatsu - Suzumushi - Japan's Bell Cricket although the mp3 doesn't really do it justice.
