Nah. Bang average at Liverpool so far. Got lucky with the world cup , right place right time after they lost their first game to the Saudis.
World Cup winner last season, potential EPL winner this. Not bad for a player allegedly being carried by his team mates.

Needs to improve his finishing to really kick on.

Got everything else though.

Early days for him at Liverpool and still only 25! Could end up adding a premiership title to his world cup winners medal come the end of the season.

He grabbed that lucky break at the world cup with both hands and put in consistent (and some man of the match performances) all the way to the final.

Not for me. Take his international career. Vicente was constantly overlooked in major tournaments for Spain. The only one he played in (Euro 2004), they went out in the group stages. No one has mentioned Ali Mac and he won the World cup last year. Granted he won La Liga but never went onto play for Barca or Real.

He bullied a few lower half championship teams with us and that was about it. Good? Yes. Great, For Valencia maybe. Best ever in the stripes? No chance.
He wasn't overlooked, he played every game in the 2004 euros. Injury problems kept him from being selected for subsequent tournaments at a time when Spain where the best team in the world.

He played for us at the end of his career when he could hardly play due to injury, but If you take a prime Vicente around 2003/2004, winning La Liga twice and the UEFA cup he's definitely one of, if not the best, players to have ever played for us.

Or Groß but does the OP mean ‘best’?

‘Great’ has a different meaning to ‘best’. Lawro or Pedro are quite clearly neither.

You need a shit load of appearances to be our greatest. These appearances MUST be at the top level. It’s between Dunk and Groß for that title.
Gross is ahead because of his overall impact on the results, and that he seemingly came from nowhere to shine in the toughest league and arguably the toughest of positions.

Enjoy him for this season. He'll be off to Chelsea or Liverpool for 120m in the Summer. Seriously though we need to start keeping our best players. We are now capable of winning trophies. Maybe not the Premier league but definitely League and FA Cup.

They lost the first game Vs Saudi Arabia then MacAllister was brought in to the side, for me he was so pivotal in winning the World Cup

I will throw another name in to the mix...Alexis Mac Allister, our first ever world cup winner and one of the players of the tournament.
Mac is a good player. Classy and fashionable, and yes, he won a WC which will always look good. But I thought Mwepu was better. I’m not bringing him in to the convo given how short lived his career was. Same with Pendro, it’s too soon but he’s doing all the right things. Estupinian also, when we look back on this squad, will be realised as the technically perfect footballer he is, but again it’s too soon to say.

Best player to wear the stripes in my opinion is LD hands down and the fact he’s been overlooked by the Wangland set up is a tragedy.

Agree. Argentina lose first game then Mac joins to win the WC. Liverpool EPL title also rans then Mac joins and they now top the league. This totally flips @dwayne ’s idea.

Good player, I've liked him form the first time I saw him play. He has something about him.

What I like most is that he's developing into a game changer.

In our promotion season we had Knockeart. If we were laboring he'd be the payer we'd look to to deliver that special something that would get us over the line. And he delivered far more often than not.

Then in our first two season in the premier league we didn't have anyone. It was just hard graft that got us points.

Season three we got Trossard and he took on the mantle. Not as effective as Knockaert in the championship but on his day Trossard carried our attack. He played well, we played well and would usually get the result. We got three years of Trossard as game changer.

Now that mantle has been passed to Mitoma. But Pedro is quickly coming up on the rails. More and more he's getting the ball and creating something, dragging us forward, beating players, making opportunities and scoring.

What is really remarkable is that besides Pedro and Mitoma as game changers we have Enciso and Ferguson well on the way to joining them and Buonnanote has the potential to do it too.

If (if!) we can get to the point of having four or five genuine game changers in the squad we're going to be a very dangerous team.

Maccer has only played 5 games since November 5th in the league. When he was last playing regularly Liverpool were 4th

Just ask pool fans about him. They're not blown away.

Five best players I have seen play for us and pedro not in there .(even though I think he is a great player

1) Mark Lawrenson ( amazing player and oozed class)

2) Bobby Zamora first time round

3) Peter Ward ( class )

4) Garry Nelson (87-88 season)

5) Pascal Gross ( in my view best player for us since Bobby Z

I’m not really into these sorts of selective stats as it’s a team game and titles are won over a season. But. He’s played 15 out of 20 EPL games for Liverpool, they’ve only lost one of these 15. W11, D3, L1. I‘d say this is a more than healthy contribution to their league current position.

I bet you bloody LOVED Hinsh having an average game yesterday :lolol:

As an aside if him and his dad have influenced Valentino to come here, it’s another thumbs up for a really classy guy from me!
