Bicep or forearm reconstruction? Bit messy, bet it stitches up nicely though.
I watched my own knee operation - amazing watching them go in, scrape the back of the kneecap, then cut and restitch the ligament. Took me a while to work out who's foot they were holding up in the air, but I was pretty well zonked on painkillers. Epidural was "interesting" - all those ladies who have given birth will know what I mean when I mention the "creaking" sound when the needle goes in.
The frightening thing is that they let me administer morphine (sorry, none on me at the moment) put in drips and taught me how to do the world famous emergency tracheotomy! Hope and pray that you never need 1st aid when I am around, I always seem to forget the "check they are breathing" bit in my general excitement.....
