Is that the same David Beckham "in the squad for commercial reasons only" as the one who used to be a good footballer?

Didn't he make his Man U debut at the Goldstone, and now he returns for commercial rather than footballing reasons. That kind of sums up his career progression.

That must be a tough gig. You start off getting work for looking like him, but then how far do you take it with the tattoos. First couple you might go for, but having his kids names would be a bit much, and now .... well, if any part of your arms or the back of your neck is flesh coloured, then you simply don't look like him anymore.

Would you get to shag a Victoria Beckham double?

I once met a Mike Tyson lookalike at a Company Sponsored do in London....it was really funny as the evening went on and the beer flowed, people started taking bets on who could take him on.......eventually one pissed up Irish Project manager decided he was the man and went over and started to goad this poor bloke.

Eventually the guy snapped and beat the Irish guy to a pulp.....turned out he was a former Commonwealth light heavyweight champion and was actually built like a brick shit house.

Suffice it to say, we now look at all the people we book just in case......although we had the comedian Will Smith on at a Kick Off Day and half the women in teh audience walked out!!!!

Suspect it was Andy Harmer, and from what i'm aware he does have many of the tattoos and always changes his hairstyle when Becks does. To be fair to the bloke he is pretty good and makes a very decent living out of it

I'm pretty sure he actually was for a while

If the actual Beckham had been in town I should imagine there'd be rather more of a fuss made about it. The Argus would have creamed its pages for a start.

Isn't it a bit cruel to have a lookalike signing autographs for people who believe he's the real deal? At the end of the day that's straightforward deception

David Beckham is probably wondering whether he met a Granny Weatherwax lookalike or the real one.

I was at company meeting about 12 years ago when the entertainment was a Spice Girls tribute band - very few of them looked anything like the real Spice Girls but a sizeable contingent of far Eastern delegates though they were real thing and pursued the entertainers for audience and pestered the organisers for ages asking them how they managed to book the Spice Girls.
