Sullivan looks a solid 'keeper and if we want him to be our first-team regular for the future, we need to keep giving him first team opportunities.
we can't keep playing his just so he get's "experienced" if it's detrimental to the team.
Oh my god - one poor game and you've resigned him to the reserves for the rest of the season...Believe it or not, sometimes goalkeepers have bad games as well.
Til last night, Sullivan has hadrly put a foot wrong since coming in for Kuipers before Xmas and whilst I like Kuipers, Sullivan doesn't deserve to be dropped just because of one average performance. FFS if that was the case, then I can name a few other players who should be dropped ahead of him!
Just a question like, but how do you make an inexperienced keeper, experienced ? without actually playing him at a higher level than the reserves.
Sullivan has been excellent until last night when he was very poor, but as I've said many times you can't expect a 20 year old keeper to be consistent every single week, especially one with no more than 20 odd games under his belt. Sullivan will go on to be a fantastic goalkeeper, but let's not forget it's rare to find number ones under the age of about 24 so it might be two or three years yet before he is. For now, and the next year or two at least, we need to get Michel back in goal and hope he rediscovers the fantastic form he was in before his injury. As well as being a superb goalie, I just think the experience and organisation that Michel brings are what we need right now. Far from being too old, I'd say now is the age where Michel should be at his peak - 34 is an excellent age for a keeper. Also, we are in a relegation battle - it would be nice to give players experience but staying up comes first, and that means playing your best team which definitely includes Michel.

Plainly obvious, we are spending all this money on out field players, yes he's a good keeper, but Sully has not got enough experience. Did'nt get anywhere near to any of the shots that went in, Kippers not 100 % convinced by.
But it hasn't been one though. His distribution has been consistently awful, he's a great shotstopper, pretty good in the air but often fails to command his area and communitcation with his defence has been very dubious on a number of occasions..
I like the bloke, I think he'll do well. But all the time we've got a keeper like Kuipers at the club, who's been there, done it and got the t-shirt.. I think he should be between the sticks.. He commands his area, alright his kicking isn't fabulous, but I think he's prone to less errors and would give the defence a bit more confidence in itself which it BADLY needs at the moment. How many indecisive moments have we seen in recent games between Elphick/Sullivan.. too many.
He hasn't been that good though has he? Every routine save he makes seems to be greeted with mass hysteria. Last night was AGAIN proof that he is going to cost us more goals and in our position we can't risk it. Kuipers in NOW please. If we were safely in mid table then yes give him games, but not when it could result in relegation.
I take it you haven't watched the Albion that long. Because last month he was superb for us, and there was absolutely nothing he could do about those four goals last night.
Baloney.
I am pretty sure Sullivan was the almost unanimous choice for NSC's Player of the Month last time round.
He is class and is no worse than any other keeper at this level. He was certainly better than Peterborough's.
Must be time to find another scapegoat though eh?
