Feel that flame!
I live just outside Leeds. There were two bangs that really did sound like explosions. Everyone looked out and wondered what had gone on. I thought it was the local Spurs fan kicking his telly in, but it was Typhoon jets being allowed to go supersonic to intercept a France airways plane whose radio had packed in.
It woke my 9 yr old daughter up, so I explained that it was a plane, sonic boom etc. But it did make me think about the noise actual bombs must make and the sadness in trying to comfort a child in a war zone.
