You know when you hear a song and you always associate it in your mind with a particular memory, even if it's something really trivial?

Praise You by Fatboy Slim- every time I hear it I think of the championship winning game against Chesterfield, one of the best nights of my life. The thing that sticks in the mind (apart from the goal and final whistle obviously) is on the video, where all the blokes are splashing through the puddles behind the goal, in slow motion, and everyone hugging Dick Knight. Sheer joy. So the song always makes me smile.

Slightly less exciting, that annoying Time To Burn song brings back memories of sitting in a traffic jam on the A12, frying in the August heat. We were queuing up to get to Southend amid a sea of optimism at the start of the season. Depressingly we lost 2-0. Time To Burn must have been on the radio in the car, as I always think of poxy Southend when I hear it.

Any songs that trigger memories for you?

"These foolish things" - remind me of you :lolol:

A tinkling piano in the next apartment,
Those stumbling words that told you what my heart meant,
A fairground's painted swings...

Surprisingly few Albion related memories!

Don't You Want Me by the Human League- reminds me of the 80s nights in the Event when I was about 18. Eeek, just confessed to going in the Event!

Actually, it's not just Praise You, a lot of the FBS songs remind me of the Albion. Probably as they're on the end of season videos.

Rose Royce's 'Wishing on a Star', and Fat Larry's Band's 'Zoom' remind me of my first days as an over-excitable pubescent gitoid going to the Goldstone on my own (i.e. without my Dad) on a cold rainy afternoon in November to watch Brighton play Manchester United or Arsenal or Aston Villa or Liverpool or...

On and On by The Longpigs - splitting up from my wife, the worst feeling I've ever had

Cool For Cats by Squeeze - playing Space Invaders on school trip to Wales

Time Aint Nothing by Green On Red - camping with my friends, the best feelings I've ever had (and still have)

Fragma - Toca'a miracle - reminds me of being 14, my parents going away and having a party in my house so does the soundtrack to Kevin and Perry go large.

The Verve - drugs don't work always reminds me of when one of my brothers went to Uni and I really missed him. How sad!

Stereophonics- Have a nice day always makes me remember Liverpool winning the FA cup a couple of years ago, I think Match of the Day played it at the end.

Or as my first boss (ex navy) used to enjoy singing......
"A filled up ashtray and an old french letter
a dose of syphalis that just won't get better,
my hurting ring oh how it stings
these foolish things remind me of you"
