Some thoughts on today.

Negatives:

Kuipers - kicking was woeful, bollocked Lynch despite having wrongly given him the ball in the first place for the second, should have come off his line for the third. Possibly an unwise decision not to play Henderson.

Forwards - Hart was spectacular last week, but non existant today, as was Carole.

Wingers - woeful, can't really remember any thread from the wing, other than a Carole cross which Hart somehow nosed over the bar early on.

Subs - THREE strikers on the bench????

Atmosphere - i'd guess 800, not bad, but we were embarassingly quiet by our usual standards in my opinion. A lot more anti-McGhee fans than i'd imagined. Also the first time i've not heard "does your boyfriend know you're hear at a game"

Rows after the goals between players- didn't look good for morale

Positives:

Another CRACKING goal by CKR

Gatting - looked lively and strong, good prospect

Not that we expected to get anything, but the performance was poor today, especially after last week. Still, things can only get better as they say

I think it would have been harsh to drop Kuipers for todays game but I expect to see Henderson back for the Burnley game. His distribution is top quality for a goalkeeper and much needed.

And you never know, we could have a couple of news players.

I'm afraid it's a myth that the away support contain less whingers than at Withdean. Dopey twats.

I thought at half-time we could be heading for a "although outplayed, we get a battling point" along the lines of Preston earlier this season.

But the Blades first goal was quality stuff, patient use of the ball dragging our harrassed defenders out of position, quality cross, fantastic finish. Sometimes you just have to hand the plaudits to the opposition and move on.

Whether we would have mounted a comeback if it wasn't for the clanger of the second goal, who can tell, we might have given them a scare I guess. But they controlled the game in midfield because they had the quality, and the outcome was absolutely fair.

Not true. I was sitting with the Blades fans and the first positive sounding of DYBKYH was definitely timed at 32 minutes.

The Albion support (500 tops, surely) did look - and sound - surprisingly feeble though... "We needed a twelfth man out there. Where were you? Where were you?"

I was sitting right in the middle behind the goal. We didn't stop singing all afternoon. There were lulls but we kept up the noise all game. Obviously the sound didn't carry.

I agree with that.
I didn't hear any anti McGhee comments, in fact the lads to the left of me (*one in the Dalmation dog oufit and friends) were singing Mark McGhee's blue and white army almost constantly throughout the second half.

*On his stag weekend. I'll post a picture later.

Those that did sing sang throughout, but the acoustics of the stand weren't good. And there were a lot of people at the front not joining in.

On the game, I think it was clear they were just a better side. We didn't offer much upfront, but we defended well (apart from the 2nd goal). It was a much that nobody could have expected us to get anything from and we didn't, there are a lot more important games coming up.

CKR looked very good when he came on, and gave them a lot of trouble. Gatting looked eager, but didn't really see enough of him to tell you whether he is good enough. And I definitely believe Seb Carole is more dangerous when playing out wide.

And if one thing was clear from the game, then it is that El-Abd is a psycho.

He did well to keep his temper and not flatten Deane.

Watching the goals on ITV this morning showed what a clanger FDM made for the second goal. Could this be the reason/excuse to bring in Henderson against Burnley.

My biggest worry yesterday was that after the first sub Magoo made there was a twenty minute period where at least 3 of our players didn't have a clue where they were supposed to be playing.

Most people at the game have already said this.

I am not anti McGhee, in fact I believe that given the opportunity to buy the players that he wants he could lead us out at Falmer with a team to challenge for promotion from the Championship but his use of substitutes is somewhat baffling on most occassions.
