2, 4, 6, 8....

Molly Malone
Ha! When I saw the thread title those were the first two I thought of!

Also Daisy, f*** 'em all, and the one about bow-legged chickens. And of course You'll never walk alone, which all clubs used to do. (That wouldn't get past the Song Police these days).

EDIT: Oh, and "We hate Nottingham Forest!"

The one to the tune of Here We Go/Stars and Stripes Forever? Yes, I agree - should definitely get sung more.

Also can't work out why we don't chant a simple, insistent Albion, Albion, Albion etc in the same cadence that Arsenal and Everton do. Would be effective at corners, or when we're putting the opposition under pressure, and the whole stadium could (in theory) join in, even those with blankets atop knees.
IIRC we used to chant Seagulls, Seagulls, Seagulls, Seagulls at corners.

I can't stand the "everywhere we go" chant, nobody knows the words to the last bit.
"Watching Brighton and Hove Albion
Mur mmm mur mmm coast."
It's an awful song IMO. Although I may have been put off it the very first time I heard it at West Ham away this season. I had two young lads stood next to me one of which was totally tone deaf so it sounded completely horrific!

I always liked, and would love to hear it more often;

Albion Albion Albion
Albion Albion Albee-u-un
Albion Albion Albion
Albion AL BE UN

Probably as it brings back memories from when I first went to the Goldstone in the late 70s.
Any Wembley virgins next week will soon realise that this is the only chant that a big crowd in a semi-circle can even attempt to sing in unison.
Even the simple 'seagulls, seagull' chant ends up in a choral 'canon'. (Canon? - Google it. Think 'Frere Jacques' kids song)

Can I ask how they make you 'cringe', cause I think both chants are good chants. Perhaps some fans fail to stay in tune but 🤷‍♂️
You may indeed ask why I cringe, and I will tell you:

1. "Shoreham Road" makes me cringe because it's a song which belongs to Geordies and despite "all the lads and lasses" having smiles upon their faces that is not Sussex dialect.

2. "we will fight for evermore because of Boxing Day" - Really? Most people who sing it couldn't fight their way out of a cardboard box.

Pride of the south coast ?
Is the right answer.

In "relevance to our current position" songs that no longer get trotted out there's:

In 1983
We went to Wembley
To play Man Utd and make history
Robbo was through and he passed it to Smith
The stupid Scots b'stard was pissed and he missed
And it's Brighton and Hove Albion......

(someone started that on the train to Southampton last season. In a carriage full of Brighton fans I was the only one who joined in)

Also

"She wore, she wore, she wore a yellow ribbon, she wore a yellow ribbon in the merry month of May
And when I asked her why she wore the ribbon, she said it's for the Albion and we're going to Wemberly!"

When your smiling the whole world smiles with you. This was great in the 70s.

Another good one from that era went :- to the tune of Knock Kneed Chicken

Bertie Mee said to Bill Shankly,
Have you heard of the Arsenal Highbury
Shank said no, I don't think so,
But I've heard of the Brighton boot boys.

Na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na
we are the Brighton boot boys
I used know that as,

Bertie me said to Bill shankly,
Have you heard of the Highbury
Shankly said I don’t Know
But I have heard of the Palace agro.

Or what ever team you supported.

"Wem-ber-leee! Wem-ber-lee!
We're the famous Brighton Hove Albion and we're going to Wembley!"

Loved singing that song in 1983!

And if we beat Man U:

"Tell me Ma, me Ma,
To keep the champagne on ice,
We're going to Wembley twice!
Tell me Ma, me Ma."

Pride of the south coast ?

Or have I been whooshed?
I've heard so many different words to this.

Pride of the south coast
From the south coast
On the Sussex coast

It's usually just mumblings and then everyone shouts coast.
Not a great song in my opinion.
