Its a scary thought. Just heard on the news that this soldier was going to be kidnapped and then beheaded.

I wonder if we are going to see other incidents like this popping up.

This country is becoming unsafe. What is so worrying is that these people doing are born and bread in the UK.

Story starts off talking about a soldier but then seems to imply they would, in fact, just snatch anyone...

"They would have snatched an individual, probably at random off the street.

"The person they were planning to kidnap would not have to be famous. They could just be taken off the street and taken to a safe place.

"This is what the police are looking at."

The thought of the kidnap->execution of a Joe Public off a UK street being played out on the web/TV is really quite chilling, is it not?

That's what I thought, couldn't work out what they were trying to say.

That would indeed be the most horrific of incidents, and would lead to almost instant mass-hysteria.

What a strange story. The second half is completely at odds with the first half which talks about kidnapping 'a serving Muslim soldier in the British Army' ???

You're right. The idea that one person may die at the hands of these fundamentalists in the extreme minority, will no doubt justify ENORMOUS amounts of public funds to be thrown at the 'problem'.

There is a very real chance that someone may die from a horrific tooth brush accident. Maybe even a soldier!!!

We need to act NOW!

The most worrying thing is, what do these people have planned next?

Chemical attack? Another Bomb?

And thing is this is all being planned under our noses.

I feel sorry for the honest Muslims in this country. All the hard work they are doing is being ruined by a few.

I dont believe a word of this story, yet more propaganda bullshit to keep everyone nice and scared.

The really sad thing is it will prapbably give some nutter the idea of actually doing it.

Even if i is true. The job is already done. Every one feeling 'chilled' etc. The fact that you are in more danger when you step out of your house, into your car, cleaning your windows or changing a light bulb is neither here not there.

There needs to be far more perspective put on these incidents. Should they happen? no, of course not. Are the people doing it evil bastards? yes of course they are? Will it affect the way I live my life? no, so it's not even news worthy if you ask me. It exactely what they want.

What else can we do but carry on living as we do, perhaps not in Birmingham though.

Why does Sky quote its own reporters as sources, especially when they - supposdly - come out with trite meaningless crap like "Can you imagine the effect that would have in Britain?", the sole existence is to big up their colleagues' stories? Weird.
