We keep getting lucky results that go with us, this keeps happening and I'm getting more and more convinced this is going to be a great season for us on and off the pitch. Best goal difference in the league, fewest goals conceded, 3 points clear and only lost 3 and its Christmas!

Yep and we seem to have turned The Withdean into a fortress once again, having not lost in the league this season.

Going by those statistics, we SHOULD be at least in the playoffs.
But it shows just how much closer this division is this season.

Seems to have turned around nicely. Last week we lose and bemoan the fact we're "only" three points clear, desperately in need of a point v Notts county to keep us top at christmas, and how perilous our position is.

Then our game gets cancelled and people are hoping Exeter keep up their good home record and scratch out a draw, in a desperate hope for us to stay top.

Now... we're top! Three points clear! Two games in hand! A couple of fixtures bumped to later in the season when we will have great new signings! We didn't have to sit in the freezing cold last night either! Life is good.

any reason i cant edit my first post title?

FFS , be positive , we will win the 2 games in hand to put us at least 9 points clear of everyone else

I actually feel that could be mathmatically impossible - depending on when the 2 games in hand are played etc. A lot of the top teams playing each other etc... Plus there's a lot of teams crowded below - someones always bound to win. But yes I like the centiment :)

Interesting stuff, the low points tally suggests this isn't an ordinary season, even if you say our two called off games would have been wins we'd still be at the lower end... but if we had the killer striker we would surely have been even further clear. It's there for the taking if we can make a couple of quality signings.

Can some negative ninny come on here to point out that every side whose name begins with a B that has been in the top two at Christmas has failed to be there at the end of the season. We're doomed, we're doomed!

Well this seems to be our season. 2 games in hand and each and every time a team has an opportunity to close the gap they feck it up. Our results may not reflect our early expectations at the moment but all the time we're on top I is well chuffed! Merry xmas one all seagulls!
