Shameful that Micah Richards & Alex Scott both trending on twitter, despite them not even being named as replacements or suggested they're already got a load of old 'st george cross' emoji twitter users giving them shit on Twitter. What a sorry state of social media & society we've become

What a crying shame. The sacked 3 were brilliant. Likewise so sad Botham and Gower sacked by Sky. No doubt Sue Smith will survive, the woman who has played park football same as has Alex Scott. So sad when they are sacking men who have played football at the top level whose opinion is valid but retaining women who haven't. I notice Kammy has survived (glad he has as he's brilliant) but surely if they looking to 'refresh' the show he must be a similar age to Charlie / Tiss / Thommo so why has he survived and they haven't? I would call that blatant racism.

3 white guys losing jobs due to needing to be more diverse.

Or is it to keep things fresh rather than keeping the same people on it every week for getting on for 10 years?

The only people that keep mentioning diversity is people like you

Micah Richards is brilliant. Could definitely do with more of him on TV.

I also don't mind Clinton Morrison. Couldn't stand him as a player but find him quite entertaining at times and likeable. A lot better than Darren Gough who I had the misfortune of listening to for 5 minutes yesterday.

Come off it, it’s definitely the case. I think they’re old and perhaps passed it, but you just know the replacements will include at least two women (we’ve never heard of) and 2 BAEM persons. I’d be astonished if it isn’t. Look at other media changes. It’s called positive discrimination and it’s been around for ages now. Don’t be so naive. Like to see Adam Virgo given a go, but being male and white will unfortunately count against him.

I like Michah too, he’d be my choice as well. Morrison’s voice irrates me, I can’t say I’d want him even if he does talk sense! Same with Tony Gubba, sounded like he had a permanent cold!

Who cares? It says a lot about a person that watches something on TV and even notices / acknowledges their skin colour. I couldn't give a shit as long as the content is good. If for example Micah Richards does appear on it (I don't think he will by the way - as he would be better on live games / analysis) would it matter or be a problem? Were you bothered when Alan Hansen left MOTD and was replaced by Ian Wright?

He will at least be much more in touch with the modern game than a bunch of blokes that retires in the 80s and 90s.

Again, naive, or why would the TV bosses be actively replacing white males with BAEM/women? They notice even if you don’t! It’s ok to point out what’s happening without being racist. That’s a huge part of the problem this country has with the issue. There’s no in between ground. A one way conversation and heaven help anyone who points out the unforgettable truth. The Twitter mob are on them in a flash, devouring them quicker than a pack of piranhas would a juicy steak!

The funny thing is it is the usual agitators making stuff up without any reason. Same as the pathetic proms stuff - literally no one is complaining or discussing it yet the angry mob are out there making shit up.

Like I said - not arsed they’ve been on the same program for to long and no relevance to the modern game. They will be contractors and not been renewed for this season. I’ll have no complaints if they are replaced with younger presenters whatever colour.

I'm in full agreement that society needs to do more to ensure racial and gender equality, however I'm not convinced the hasty removal of three white men from their post for apparently no other reason that they are white men is the right way to go about it. I'm a white man myself, so maybe that's easy for me to say, but it just feels like the pendulum is swinging a little too far at this moment.

I accept that the world hasn't ever really been a meritocracy, something that's easy for me to overlook from my own personal perspective. However, what we've got now isn't really that either - I thought Le Tissier, Thompson and Nicholas were good at what they did in spite of not necessarily being the most insightful - they brought something to the frenzied nature of the show. I don't think a lack of ability has cost them their jobs.

FWIW, I agree with ideas like the Rooney rule, as it at least creates an environment where BAME people feel like they have a chance where before they did not. Hopefully in time it, along with other initiatives, can redress the ethnic balance in football coaching circles and the wider world of senior management positions. However, let's not pretend that sacking white people for the colour of their skin is right either.

They weren't removed because they are 'white men'. They are men who have been removed – their ethnicity doesn't come into the decision. Apart from the fact that they are ALL white men, so even if you removed just one of them, it would still be 'removing one white man'...

The panel evolves – these dudes weren't ALL in the original line-up. I'm not sure what people aren't understanding about that.

Yet another example of people on social media who often throw around the term 'snowflake' getting a little bit snowflakey :lolol:

If this is a parody account, it is possibly the best on here.

Did people get really angry when Liam Rosenior was doing Championship play off analysis? The bloody token!
