If anyone?

Personally I'm going to back the Czechs because I quite like Prague and have no particular animosity towards their nation and they don't have a bad team either.

I'll back the Dutch, they always provide a bit of fun. The Czech rep never seem to get it together at the tournament stage.

I'm assuming Italy and France are favourites, with Austria having the longest odds. Perhaps some of our resident bookie bashers can tell us where the value lies?

(Glover I'm not looking at you)

I like Italy...

Also Croatia, play good football as we've seen and came to Wembley for one thing, and that was to win, even though they had nothing to play for. Definitely dark horses to do well.

Anyone who plays good football really.

Germany 9/2
Italy 5/1
France 13/2
Spain 7/1
Holland 9/1
Portugal 10/1
Croatia 14/1
Czech Rep 14/1
Switzerland 16/1
Greece 25/1
Russia 25/1
Sweden 25/1
Romania 33/1
Turkey 33/1
Poland 50/1
Austria 100/1

Portugal at 10/1 gotta be good value... 5/1 to reach the final...

thats my tip for what its worth :D

Totally agree, esp. so if you really can't stand them: often by playing quite well early on before the players all massively fall out with each other in public, sometimes along racial lines, having given it loads of mouth before each game, often emenating from the weirdly-shaped organ that is Ruud van Nistelroy's empty head, and by generally underachieving on the very grandest of scales. Top fun indeed.

Eh? A country of 13 m which has been in the WC final TWICE, won the Euros in 88 and made several semi final appearances.

Underachieving you say. :dunce:

Yup. A small country but one which has undoubtedly produced a huge number of some of the most skillful and gifted players the game has ever seen, something which always understandably leaves them hotly tipped before every single tournament they enter, and yet have somehow entertainingly managed to avoid ever winning the world cup purely by acting like NOBBERS.

Portugal - Holland last year when every player and his wife either got booked or sent off was one of the direst displays of football I've ever seen (until last night), yet it provided fabulous entertainment for seeing the Dutch on top self-destruction form.

Then there was Euro 2000 against Italy when they missed about 18 penalties on the trot. Oh, how we laughed...

Or Frank Rijkaard's gob in Italia '90...

Plus I don't particularly like the colour orange, so it's always a relief when the bunting gets removed from the streets...
