Creativity - Bennett and Dicker.

Strikers - Murray and Barnes and Gus is trying to bring one more in.

Goals from midfield - I believe Bennett got 8/9 last season and Crofts got 4/5, i think Sparrow can be a decent replacement for Crofts.

Replacing Virgo with a clone - I think Poyet does know what is doing , he knows Greer really well and he knows to expect a good things from him.

Brighton and Hove Albion | Match | Club Statistics | Assists

Navarro is more creative than Dicker, but he is quite clearly a good defensive midfielder - needs more alongside him. Only Bennett offers anything going forward. Sparrow needs to be more than just "experienced and solid".

Holroyd is a MASSIVE black mark against Poyet in the transfer market. I just hope he continues to get more right than he does wrong.

Doesn't matter that other teams have stronger squads. I fully accept that on paper Southampton will start the season with a better ROSTER. So will one or two others. But it's more about management and the team as a whole, which is where I think we will excel.

It clearly does matter about how strong teams squads are.

I opted for Play Off Winners but am starting to believe we can go up automatically under the guidance of Senor Poyet with the passion he will bring to bear on his team. All this about him being off at the offers from bigger clubs is bollocks because he is a man with a plan & that is to build a club in his own mould which he has been handed the opportunity to do here with the full support of a chairman who is a true fan. We really are going to be a great club with the stadium & team we have for years only dreamt of.
The Pessamists will say different but we are beginning the journey to Premiership football.

It makes me laugh how every season too many NSC posters get carried away and think that we will get promoted, that the stadium of trees will motivate the players to big wins & that the Albion have super powers, the best training facilities & support staff to walk this division.

A sense of reality please!

Gus has made a few good signings but don't think for one moment that we are stronger than Southampton, Sheff W, Charlton, Huddersfield, MKD, or Peterborogh to just name 5 teams!

The likes of Swindon, Plymouth, Brentford & Yeovil will hardly be quaking in their boots when they will see Holroyd (the worst striker, lol in this league) & Hart on the bench either!!

We all know what is needed to get this sleeping club to the next level & we are not there yet. If we can have a season without worrying at least once about slipping into the bottom 4 then that will be progress?

With Murray out for the first two league games, unless we can get a quality replacement I believe that by the end of August we will be in the bottom third of the table. At best with a few 0-0 draws to our points tally.

Look at Leeds it took the strongest squad years to get out of this division. I think we will just miss out on the play offs, and I'm fine with that as it will represent a step forward from previous years. We are lacking a creative midfielder and a striker in my opnion.

no creativity, no strikers, no goals from Crofts in midfield (sparrow MIGHT get a few?) - sounds like we've just replaced Virgo with a clone.

El-abd and Elphicks form at the end of last season was freakish - it won't last.

I just imagine we'll crumble under the expectation and come November people will be questioning the management team.

We won't go down - Murray, Bennett, Navarro and the full backs are too good for that. But the rest of the squad is very ordinary indeed, and there's no strength in depth.

Still, I suppose the argie might turn out to be good, and Bloom might get his cheque book out now time is running out to bring players in. But I can't see us finding the 25 goal a season striker when we're re-signing Hart and are trialing shit like that Dobson bloke who's scored less career goals than Craig Davies.

Christ im suprised you manage to drag yourself out of bed in the morning with that attitude in life.

Soton and Hudds at present look shoe ins on paper, but that means f all.

Who would have thought Swindon would finish 3rd last season..?
You never can tell.

I know one thing for certain, we will play good football and even after our tough opening fixtures, we wont be near the bottom of the table like the last few seasons.

With the squad as it is 7th-11th(out of those options, 8-12th out of mine). If we get Lua Lua on a season long loan, another decent striker, a central midfielder and maybe a back up winger then I think the play offs will be a realistic target.

This - we're definitely striker short and need another winger. I think we'll finish 7th or 8th as it stands (although I voted for playoffs by mistake)

I'm saying, from my head not just my heart, we will go up automatically ... by a reasonable margin no last day dramas!

i think a top 8 finish (hopefully top 6) but i think we will be playing some of the best football we've seen for a long while. Good passing football with hopefully very little hoof ball.......the Spain of league 1!!!!!

Past few seasons has seen optimism as high as this, however, we know Painter and Calderon made a massive difference to our defence so there are already more grounds to be optimistic.

I think as things stand we will be a play off chasing team. Another striker that can bag us 20 in a season and I think we could go up to the next level of comfortable top 6 .... a bit like Millwall last season.
A lot depends on these Argentinians in a way. If just one of them can turn out to be a gem then we are further in business.

Lua Lua would make a difference as well

Nice trip to Wembley where we will smash Soton taking our rightful place in the championship.

The league doesn't look as tough as last season, coupled with some great ideas and training from poyet and the marquee signing of Kishishev I expect we'll finish in the top 2.

7-11th for me because we need to still obtain a striker who can make 20 goals .. We only have 2 at the moment Murray and Barnes ... i'm not including the other clown because i think he will be shipped out
