So what would make NSC better?

perhaps everyone should just stop taking this 'place' so bloody seriously...

i mean, jesus christ, a thread including a discussion of how many smilies you should be able to use in a single post? i didn't think it was possible for an internet message board to masturbate, but this one seems to be managing it.

Images, other than smilies, having to be rated by a moderator, therefore giving a warning page if the image contains something that people may find offensive/explicit and shouldn't really be viewed at work.

I'm sorry but I really don't see how anyone can condone NSC as being a "critical part of the induction" into the world of the Albion. That is simply ridiculous. As for not wanting your nine year old to read this, then restrict the sites that they can access.

NSC always has and always should be the online equivalent of life in a pub full of Albion fans, or like being at the game. As such it should reflect the conversations and language used at these places. In all honesty I would say that it's up to each parent to decide when this site is ok to be read by their kids, but perhaps a rule of thumb would be when they would be comfortable with the kids going to a game by themselves. In the meantime there is a safe alternative in brightonfans.com. NSC SHOULD NOT TURN INTO ANOTHER VERSION OF THAT SITE.

Of course NSFW should be used, but can't be if an image is stuck in the middle of a thread by anyone other than the thread starter. Use of common sense should apply here.

I don't agree with censorship at all. Some people need to grow a skin. It's just words. Outright abuse and racism aside of course.

This is open to abuse though. It's also incredibly subjective. One mod may not find something offensive, while another appears to be highly sensitive of everything (unless a mate posts it). Perhaps in these cases the mods should actually consult each other?

It already exists.

I'll get my hat.

I find my post count mildly embarrassing.
I would just like to state that 95% of my posts occur during my working hours.

- - more input from users when they see something that they feel is unacceptable (Red Triangle)

Also output back to user when posts are complained about. I have only complained a small number of times but for example I red triangled a post a while ago about a certain well known person against Falmer as I felt it cause NSC trouble. The post remained to I didnt know whether it was felt acceptable or whether my report was unnoticed.

I dont agree with separate forums in addition to those already there.

Out of interest when a user is banned is their IP address banned as well, otherwise it would just be a case of re-registing wouldnt it.

Gone from User Profiles now too.

I'll never get them back after the slashing of various templates I've just performed in a slightly haphazard manner.

It looks a little bare under the avatars now, can we have something else, like member of which clique or something? :jester:
