So what formation do we play, and what's our best XI?

Also, Forster Caskey should be involved, maybe with the subs. And how about Simmonds from the development squad?

This is the main trouble we've had this season and it's caused by injuries. I'm sure that if all were fit Gus would be pretty much starting with the same 8 or 9 players every game and maybe moving 1 or 2 others in and out depending on form and opposition. How can you put a team out that is changing not just every week but sometimes 2 or 3 times a game and as we have just witnessed minutes before kick off. This disruption is the cause of our form as having a settled side is key to the way we play. I think that Buckley is turning in to a massive loss and not having his play making style is why we aren't opening teams up having had so much possession.

That's a good formation, but tell me one game this season when we've actually played that formation. How can you say that is the best (I agree it looks best on paper) if it's never been tried. I mean, we've not even seen Reyes play anywhere except right back... Have Vicente and Buckley even been on the pitch together?

Meopham, Kent.
Not sure we can judge, as I suspect it includes Buckley, but I've just not seen enough of him to be sure.

Noone - Nav - Macca - GOAL!

I don't understand why Navarro is out of favour. I thought he did pretty well against Liverpool.

He did well against Sunderland.

Or a long term basis I only see 4-4-2 as valid, but I don't mind if Gus perseveres with 4-3-3 as it can be easily adapted. And if we had an excellent B2B central midfielder, 4-3-3 is the biz.

What I don't like is 4-2-3-1, although this may suit the passing game. This is for the simple reason that we can't play on both wings at the same time and one winger must always be isolated and out of the game. Unless he falls back into midfield.

I am beginning to have my doubts if Vicente and Buckley are ever going to be fit and I don't really care whether Hoskins is fit or not.

Is Mrs Harper going to put the thumbs down on a lower stay down south?

whats wrong with 442 gus you have 4 wingers on the books and 4 strikers so why persit in playing the lopsided formation that isnt working anymore teams are far more savy in the championship....they have sussed we only have one out ball to noone we are to predictable and don't move the ball quick enough....gus requested and got the widest pitch in the championship so why not use it......

Well the question was what's our best XI, didn't know you meant the best XI available. And it has been tried as it's a formation we used alot last year which easily turns into 4-3-3 in attack.
