We don't need another out and out left winger.
What a mouthful. I'm please Tina Turner went with 'hero' in the end...
We don't need another out and out left winger.
I'm remaining optimistic and will say that we won't settle for Brewster or Dia (please ) but will instead go LARGE on a mysterious foreign import that none of us have ever heard of, who'll be the best thing since sliced bread
The same Gotze that's on £120K a week at Dortmund?
So this is my theory, for what it's worth. The 'no hurry' remark suggests to me that we think we are in with a chance of landing Brewster on a season long loan if Liverpool do loan him out, which I think will happen (so long as they don't sell Origi'.).
I get the feel that we are probably top of the list for Liverpool as they'd know that we are short of strikers and so Brewster would get game time, plus they have respect for Potter.
We'd obviously have to have a backup and I think we would be strongly placed to land Dia if the Brewster loan doesn't come off.
I think we'd have liked to have got Nunez but we probably always realised it was a long shot.
We must have some indication from Liverpool as to when they make their mind up on Brewster and I expect it'll be another week or two. Thus the 'no hurry' remark from AN.
Could be complete b@llocks of course.
Same question as I posed on the Murray thread. Anyone know if Gyokeres is ready yet?
Normally I’d agree, but even by our standards we’re bloody short of strikers now.
Maupay and Connolly.
Nuñez, Origi, Batshuayi, Watkins or Edouard, we're certainly clearing funds for someone this summer.
Woods, brewster
I think Brewster would be a great addition. Apparently six Premier League teams have enquired about him, which suggests he could prosper with us, albeit on loan. I agree re Dia, that would be a disappointment, but I think he'll be our backup.

Given Potter liked playing with a tall person up front whilst at Swansea, I’m going to take a wild guess and suggest the 6ft 6 Wout Weghorst from Wolfsburg. He had a really good season and there were mumblings at the start of the window that he may leave them and heard to a English club.
Karlan Grant at Huddersfield would be another option and would fit the versatility that Potter likes.

Karlan Grant would be interesting but seems to be pretty quiet around him.
Personally speaking I’m really against loaning young players . Would sooner develop our own. Curious why others would feel different? Can understand it if you’re newly promoted or don’t have an exciting production line of talent...
Arturo Scargillio

Must be a strong candidate for 4th choice striker but we don't know Potter's assessment of that.Same question as I posed on the Murray thread. Anyone know if Gyokeres is ready yet?
