So how's your summer going musically?

I can't take all this Falmer pressure, so how about something a bit lighter like a good old music thread?

So, how's your summer going musically? Live music, I mean.

For me so far, it's been quite quiet:

Sloan
Cowboy Junkies

But a bit of a burst of mixed goodies coming up in August:

Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons
Saw Doctors
Stiff Little Fingers

Not much else on the horizon, though. How about you?

really slow, Deconstruction and Ten Foot Pole back in may/june. Nothing since then and the next gig is probably the Mad Caddies in late august, must go see the warped tour one year!

It started with The Streets back in May which smacked it (He's at number 1 in the singles and album charts this week) as expected.

Not a lot else apart from a little show in the west country called Glastonbury where Supergrass, Orbital and Basement Jaxx stood out as well as Buck 65.

My only possible (Raging Speedhorn) was cancelled so very quiet.

Finances are very tight at the moment due to lack of work. Even didn't go to Le Mans.

Did go to Cardiff though, and will be at Reading.

whoops I meant the caddies in late October!

Also a possible Strung Out tour..........YES!

Going well. Glasto was tops.

At lunchtime I bought tickets to see The Hives in Sept, they are mad as Hatters.

Latest purchases - Ordinary Boys, Razorlight, The Zutons, Tim Booth, Hope of The States and The Hives.

Contrary to many arguments I've heard on here, I reckon it has been quite a good year for Music.

Vankleek Hill, actually....
It's been a metal fest over here in Tokyo.

Helloween
Iron Maiden
Arctica Sonata
Arch Enemy

Iron Maiden are absolutely superb live, and Arctica Sonata were excellent as well.

Helloween were just awesome, especially when the earlier stuff was played.

Just bought Ordinary Boys tix for Pompey and Razorlight in Brixton.

The Ordinary Boys ones were purchased at 3 in the morning whilst on-call. By mistake, I bought Biffy Clyro tickets instead as I was rather sleepy. Managed to swap them back though...

I hate to say I told you all so but...

Best Ive seen this summer was Massive Attack at Brixton but expect the Ordinary boys to top that at the Camden Electric ballroom and razorlight should be good as well.

I have to agree the ordinary boys album is excellent, I also got razorlights album which is good, and I'm looking foward to the Libertines new album.

I'll probably go and see The Zutons and the ordinary boys in the autum

I went to Guildfest as It is on my doorstep

UB40 and Ocean Colour Sceane headed the line up the day I went.
The other days included Blondie, Simple Minds and The Stranglers.

Another top day out  But it can never beat Madness the previous year. :clap2:

Went to WOMAD this weekend. Saw an amazing Italian called Enzo Avatabile and assorted barrel bangers (that's not a typo). Rokia Traore was excellent as always and there were a couple of interesting acts from Mauritania, the next in-place.

Kroke and Nigel Kennedy were interesting, so was a group from Turkmenistan call Aayjemaal.

No more live music until Holland Park Opera and then the Proms - do they count?
