So how many of yesterday's team will start the 04/05 campaign?

So who from yesterday's team do we expect to feature in the first game of the new season?

I think that Roberts will start, as will Harding, Butters, Cullip, Virgo, Read, Knight and, perhaps, Chippy. Realistically, however, I would expect Hart, Jones, Oatway and Iwelumo to struggle to make an impression next year. It's good to know that we have Blackwell and Rodger coming back from injury but I can't help thinking that, as a minimum, we need two creative midfield players, a winger (Stephen Hunt) and a striker to stand much chance of staying up. I'd like to see the profits from yesterday's game ploughed back into the team but this seems unlikely given the parlous state of our finances. Let's hope that as a minimum we can generate some extra revenue by getting those extra 2,000 seats installed before the start of the season.

i reckon virgo will - mcghee seems to rate him, although watson coming back might affect whether he does

butters should be as well, although that depends on blackwell

I'd be horrified at the thought of Watto returning to the team next year. He did absolutely nothing for us in 02/03.

Forgot Piercy. I'd certainly keep him too. Looked up for it when he came on yesterday.

Difficult call Scotty. I didn't think he played that well for us at the beginning of the 02/03 season but our team did look poor under Hinsh's management. To be fair to Hinsh though the youngsters have come on a treat since then. Would we I wonder have made Div 1 this season playing Watto and Mayo as our full backs? I doubt it.

virgo- ditto
cullip- definately
butters- i'm really not sure, pace is a big problem
harding- would like to see him prove himself at that level
hart- yeh but only as a baclup right winger
oatway- was brill yesterday but no thank you
carpenter- yes please
jones- ditto hart
iwelumo- don't think he'd cut it, maybe as backup
knight- i think he'd be better in div 1 than div 2(less physical)

piercy & reid- definately got the ability, keep them on

portslade
players out for me would be
Butters ...to slow for 1 div
oatway ..loses the ball to much
jones... never liked him
not sure on harty-boy
virgo will improve as will harding

we just need a craative midfielder to get the ball
and play it on the ground to save our necks
experienced centre-half with speed
back-up striker maybe 2
