[Albion] So how do we survive next season?

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
Now that is all over, how do we avoid a car crash next season.

We can't rely on three teams being an even greater stench in this league every year, nor all the promoted sides from the Championship being routine cannon fodder for everyone-else.

So how do we get out of jail next year, and who will be even worse than us?

Good question, if we are to change how we play the manager has to be replaced, if that is the case the decision should have already been made.

1. Trust the defence to defend
2. Give the midfield a licence to get forward
3. Have a go sometimes rather than set out with damage limitation in mind
4. Sign a striker, a right back, a defensive midfielder and a left winger
5. Replace Hughton if he can’t commit to points 1-3

So in other words you want Hughton out.

We need AT LEAST five new players who are better than what we currently have in the positions they will be coming in. Two strikers, two centre mids, right back. I'd also argue a better winger. Without that reckon we'll be praying there are 3 worse again and not sure we'll get so lucky.

Buy some cheap foreign imports that nobody has heard of and set them alight on the PL then sell them for Zillions, making us right to buy by a multi Zillionaire, we then bring in the best players from all over the world, thrash Manchester City and Liverpool, win the Champions League and then go on to lift the World Cup.

Play like we did in the first half hour today (and for the 90 mins at Arsenal last week) and we’ll be fine. All in the tactics. We have the players (on the whole), just need to approach the games in the right way/frame of mind

First stop in the transfer market is two pacey midfielders who can get up and support the striker/strikers

The same as we did this season. Win some games, draw some and try our best. We didn't survive because there were three teams worse than us, we survived because we won more points than them, despite injuries to key players, some terrible ref decisions, and being pragmatic where we had to be pragmatic.
Hopefully we can sign a few good players to boost our squad.

If the (new) new singings don't get game time and it is same old approach, horse shoe formation even against the lesser sides, like for like subs at 64 minutes, and a points return worse than this season by late September, then he will be out.

Probably.

Shirley?

???

How do we get the current players out of the rot that has set in?
