doesn't matter 1 game 1 win , its wasn't pretty but whenever have we done that?

the loss of Cox hurt us and i think if we had 11 going in to the second half a simple switch to 4-4-2 (the strikers weren't getting fed down the middle , but Rotherham looked very dodgy down the flanks) would've finished them off (probably have played CKR and Jakey - let Jakey do the running and CKR pick him out, because lets face it , CKR struggles to work out where offside actually is)

other then that , well done Mark , good to see that your not completely shy of Attacking football

now bring on Gillingham, which i can only see us getting a draw against, then Brentford who we'll beat

C'MON!

What a BINFEST. A bunch of clowns abusing people for daring to have a different opinion to them and claiming that one game against a poor side proves their opinion is correct. And they weren't even AT the game.

Revell was a handful from the word go today, their left back couldn't handle his height and it was a good decision by Wilkins to play him there and win the headers, he took his goal very well.

Where as it was actually MM's decision. I can see anything that now goes right will be down to "the messiah" Wilkins. Whereas anything that goes wrong will be down to "the clown" MM. Just remember which one is an expeirenced manager that has got teams out of this divison at the first time of asking - every time.

I honestly think we will win our first 3 games, and will be top o' the league.

so come on, wheres the negativity, he's gotta be mad to buy a non-league striker??no??? blah blah blah

maybe now we can be a bit more optimistic for this season!

appy days indeedy!!
:lolol:

Lets not start bigging up or slagging off Mr McGhee until at least ten games have been played. Then we can perhaps make a real assesment of the pre-season buys etc etc.

None of us will know whose those decisions on the bench are, unless we have a microphone placed there!!!!

And? McGhee actually said in his post match interview that he had seen him play afew times for Braintree in that position and had decided to play him there.

Just set MM up for a bigger failure if we don't go up.

It's one game, which we won narrowly against a team that struggled in league 1 last year... let's not get too carried away... we are still a couple of players light if we are going to make a serious challenge for promotion... and MM has said much the same thing...

With no money, no ground, and a bunch of fans that don't know their arse from their elbow. Let's see how well Crawley do this year shall we?

We have some funds to spend... source DK/MM...
We have a ground that is approximately the same size as many club's grounds in Leage 1... and we charge more than any other club in L1...
Don't insult the fans... we are among the best in the country... and that's official...
What has Crawley got to do with it?...

fair point fella - im not getting carried away and i dont see opposing posts in this thread as pissing on my fire - i was purely saying lets enjoy the win (while we have just got one), as there werent many times we could do likewise last season!!

i too believe one result means f*** all in comparrisson to the rest of the season but after all the negativity over close season and the end of last, i am f***ing chuffed to get off to a winning start.

that is all. :D

Lets all wind our necks in a bit shall we. An opening day win doesn't make McGhee the all-singing all-dancing messiah for the new season. Equally, our relegation last season doesn't make McGhee the complete dunce some people have him down as.

For me, he made things difficult for himself last year with some of his man-management, or lack of. And there were some fairly bizarre selections along the way. And I didn't much care for a lot of his pre-match "we'll be lucky to get anything from this game, so I'm focussing on the Millwall/Sheff Weds/Crewe games instead" type comments, which practically sent us out as a beaten team before a ball had been kicked. I lost a lot of faith in him last year. BUT - he knows his way round this division, he knows the players and he knows the club. If he can keep us mid-table, maybe a flirt with the Playoffs, then he'll have done blolody well. If we're up shit creek after 15-20 games though, then I'm afraid its adios amigos.

Today changes nothing.

Now that's talking sense...

Of course not. If you're at work and here someone slagging of your manager, saying he's inept. And you get this every day, then you'll start to lose confidence in your boss won't you.

You think the same doesn't happy in football teams??

This is a message board... people can post whatever opinion they have - positive or negative - about any member of staff at the club... I am sure the club's staff are thick-skinned enough to take it... if not, they should be...

Well done to Mr Mcghee and the team yesterday - very good result and start.

Hoever half hese people on this thread where having a go for anti Mcghee fans starting the same sort of thread last season and im sure if they lost yesterday and the same sort of anti mcghee thread was started they would have done it again

Lets wait a see before either side gloats shall we, or else it could become very tedious.

Not as tedious as the McGhee in or out poll we're going to see after every game.
