A 147 break is 4 times harder than a 9 dart finish.

A 9 dart check out involves 9 accurate shots

A 147 break involves 36 accurate shots

9 x 4 = 36

Surely though that doesn't factor in one variable, that being the snooker players opponent.
If you were to make the assumption the 147 didn't come from the break, the snooker player could be left in a very favourable position, one in which even I could pot a few balls.
Whereas Mr Dartist is only reliant is own skills/luck.

I'll sit on the fence,i reckon it is about an equal achievement. You see very few of each on TV.

147 easily, imo.

You've got a different position of the balls each time, and you have to pot red then screw back, for the yellow green brown blue pink and black.

Well if i am right 147's happen more frequently that 9 darters...

They are publicised more, like on the bbc website if one happens. But i still think that they are harder to achieve.

:bigwave:A 147 may involve 36 shots as opposed to 9 for darts, but dart crowds are known for their noise and in some shots in snooker if you do it right you can have both object and cue balls very or close together. So 9 darter for me.

Funnily i have been discussing this in the pub recently.

I would say a 147 myself, because you have more variables to deal with, having to go into the pack at some point to open the reds with the hope you end on a red while still having a route back to position on the black afterwards, or the possibility of a kick.
