brighton, actually
i think good - instead of putting people off, i feel it will draw more in, for a gulp of frsh, clean air! some pubs do lip service to non smoking areas, with just a sign - though tell that to the smoke,
at the end of the night, the whole place stinks.

i cannot believe health and safety laws dont allow smoking in kitchens, but not in the restaurant, where people are actually eating the food. almost had a set to in wetherspoons, where a group of people lit up as we were eating, and was holding a ciggie v close to my face - had i turned round, would have got some hot ash in my face..

I'm in 2 minds being a social smoker. Don't know why, but if I have a nice glass of wine in my hand, I feel the need to do something with the other! I say no smoking in restaurants and in bars before 8pm. After 8pm, then let the smokers smoke!

I haven't put my own thoughts on the poll, it's only yes or no!

Well, I know what I THINK you mean.

Back O/T though, I'm a little wary of bans where a bit of common sense and courtesy is all that's required. People who spark up next to me just as my food arrives make me want to pour their drinks on their heads. Yes, they have a right to smoke after a meal but I have the right not to have my meal ruined by someone else's smoking. Nobone has the right to enjoy something at the expense of someone else's enjoyment of the same thing in my opinion.
