Some managers seem to operate better with a smaller budget and often cock it up when given a more substantial one.

Just wondering if anyone would know what kind of record Slade has in regards to use of money at other clubs?

It's one thing to have a good player budget, it's another to make best use of it.

He's managed at Yeovil and Grimsby. He has never even SEEN any money..

Shouldn't make a difference in my opinion. Slade is respectful to personality as well as playing ability, which is shown by his faith in players such as Dicker, Hart, Owusu, Andrew, and I'm confident he won't bring any bad eggs into the dressing room. Something synoymous with more expensive players is that they think they're so much better than everyone else eg Robinho. I think Slade is capable of dispelling the possibility of this happening.

Sounds like we have the right manager for the right situation then.

Bloom will be more confident in supplying a decent budget if he knows it's to be used wisely to build a team and not just to bring in a few 'name' players that look good on paper.

Totally agree. Slade won't sign any big headed Pansie, he will invest in hard working out going lads and i expect him to make the right signings.

If we are investing all that in the stadium I dont think we will have that much to chuck around on players. Things will stay tight for a few years yet.
