Slade resigns due to fall out with chairman tony bloom

i think its rubbish and not true

Really? I mean are you sure? That is a very bold and well thought out view there that could lead to peoples minds being frazzled with the extensive literature and thought process that would go into figuring out the meaning.

Oh and by the way thread starter! You could have made yourself a whole lot more believable but you had to go and mention Liam Brady. One thing about NSC bull crap... keep it realistic.

Seems up for this cruch game

Albion can expect another tough test at Crawley tomorrow night, which is just the way Russell Slade wants it.

The manager admits his players may not be relishing their third clash against Blue Square premier opposition in the space of seven days but believes such challenges are ideal at this stage of the Seagulls’ pre-season preparations.

Slade said: “It’s another good test. It is a little bit like a cup final for all these sides. You know you are going to get a tempo.

“Nobody is hanging off so it’s a little bit more realistic perhaps than even playing a Championship side, foreign side or Premier League side right now, because they are in your face. They are making life difficult, they are making you work the ball quickly.

“The players don’t want that, because they’ve already had a hard day’s work on the training ground, but it’s exactly what I want because it gets the mind sharper and the legs sharper.”

Albion made a winning return to a ground evoking bad memories against AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday night.

The Blue Square premier newcomers groundshare with Kingstonian at Kingsmeadow, or the Fans' Stadium as it has been re-named.

The Seagulls were knocked out of the FA Cup on their previous visit to Kingstonian during Liam Brady’s reign but tasted victory this time with goals by Kevin McLeod and Adam Virgo.

“It was another good workout,” Slade said. “It’s all about time on the pitch at the moment. We still looked a bit leggy but that is understandable.

“There is a lot more short work we have got to do over the coming weeks to get us nice and sharp.

“There are three more games and they are very important but it is not important to peak right now and we have still got an awful lot of work to do on and off the field. We are still a million miles away from where I need us.

“We are looking for sharp passing, quick movement and an athletic side. We’re not there yet but we are getting better.”

Slade continued to experiment against Wimbledon, using 22 players. Only three – McLeod, David Livermore and rookie winger Steve Brinkhurst – featured for more than 45 minutes.

Livermore filled the problem left-back spot and the difficulties caused by Wimbledon to his inexperienced second-half replacement, Steve Cook, emphasised the need for cover while McNulty continues his comeback from losing a kidney.

McLeod, on target in the first half, said: “You know you are going to get a good run for your money when you play lower league teams. They are fit and strong and I was very surprised by how well Wimbledon played football and how quick and strong some of their lads were.”

New attacking spearhead Liam Dickinson was accompanied after the break by Craig Davies following his debut alongside Glenn Murray in the second half of last Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Stevenage.

Slade said: “It’s going to take time to gel. I am changing his (Dickinson’s) partner every time he plays, that is all part of it.

“I need to know who can play with who and who can’t play with who. These are the important things you learn pre-season.”
