I would say NO. The job IS NOT DONE. I am not saying I would not want Slade in charge next season if we go down. But to give him the contract before the job is done is a terrible idea. The incentive is to keep us up. He HAS NOT done that yet.

What do you think ?.

I agree, although I would want Slade in charge next year whatever division we are in.

It would only act as a distraction, and they have said no contracts will be discussed until the season is over...

I agree. He should be given a contract regardless whether we go down or not, but it shouldn't be done before the last game.

If we go down I would still be happy to have Slade in charge but lets do it after Saturday IF we are going to do it. NOT before.

In any case. There is NO chance that Dick Knight would give him a contract before next Saturday.

Sign him up now! One year rolling contract. Before somebody makes him a better offer.

I don't think there's much chance of him leaving to be honest.

The phone in on SCR seems pretty unanimous on the subject - definitely the concensus is "sign him now!"

I read the question wrong and voted 'yes'!

I think he should get a contract REGARDLESS of the result but lets do it AFTER the game!

Depends if he has it on the back of his mind or not.

If it would help him concentrate 100% on Stockport then sort out his contract now, if it doesnt effect him either way then wait til next Monday!

Whatever way it goes next year we'll be Russell Slade's Blue & White Army :albion2:

He should be given a contract now. He has, somehow managed to instil into the squad a sense of comittment and effort, attitudes which had been absent for weeks. If we do go down, under his management, we will go down fighting.

I have voted no,having listened to the phone in arguements. The job is not finished.Slade would get differant wages and budgets in differant leagues. The basic applies to the players as well !Stay up,and you just might a) have a job and b ) might just keep the money that you are on now!!!!I would think any player wanting a pay rise will be not offered a new contract

Sign him up next Sunday, if we're up or down.
For the next week we need t concentrate on the Stockport game and nothing else.
