Probably taking Irish football in an attempt to piss off Setanta who started off providing Irish sport to ex-pats.

Northern Irish football, Irish Premier League football is (slightly, only slightly) better quality that this... The IFA never stopped claiming they control football on the whole island until UEFA made them in the 1950s, hence the "Irish Football League", ours is the "League of Ireland".

Sky now own the rights to the Irish League along with the international rights for Northern Ireland.

have you ever been to a Cliftonville v Lindfield game? It's the Celtic v Rangers of Ulster. Very entertaining if a morbid curiosity in sectarianism is your thing.

Same thing without the religious violence in the LOI (although dammit we've tried our best...) is Derry vs. Finn Harps. Rousing chorus of "you're Brits, and you know you are" gets the average Derry fan very, very angry :laugh:

Also because Sky lost the rights to show live Premier League football on Monday nights as so they need to fill in the caps of their schedule.

To be honest I am glad they are showing different football as Premier League football is full of overpaid wannabies.
