Got it middle of last year. Have to say I had been a total sceptic, but undoubtedly it is better.

Obviously need a decent TV to fully appreciate.

Assuming you have an HD tv then yes, it's worth it. Even Ms Dom switches to the HD channels by default now and she was very skeptical about it being worth the expense of a new TV as well as the extra for the HD package.

Watching TV in normal definition after having HD for a year makes my eyes bleed.

If you can comfortably afford the extra then yes. Be warned though, should you ever have to switch back to normal telly after getting used to HD, you will cry

I've got it, but probably wouldn't bother if I didn't have sports and movies though.

Agreed if you watch movies and sport a lot, otherwise wait until your present TV needs replacing

it is but still having issues with the sound being out of synch with the pictures on some channels in hd
