I'm looking into getting SKY+ at home and wa shoping some of you chaps with sky+ already could give me some feedback.

I have those little mouse things all round the house to change channel in any room, do these still work with a sky+ box. Do the old controllers work with the new box just for changing channel etc.

Is it actually a worthwhile investment?

It is the business, although occasionally it does forget to record a programme or gets mixed up with the EPG times and records the wrong programme.

Yes, Sky+ is the business.
I have a remote IR sender, so I can control Sky+ from the bedroom, and it works fine, just the same as the original Sky did. You will need to get a second Sky+ remote control, as the normal Sky one doesnt work with Sky+.
Series link is brill.

I have had to replace the Hard Disk inside the box myself though, after the warranty ran out.

cheers people, sound slike I might have to invest in this. I don't have a video so its really so I can tape stuff and things like that without having to get a new video.

Has anyone developed a way of transfering saved video onto the PC or is this just not possible.

Sky + is superb. If you have sky already its a must as it means you just never have to watch shite telly.

I read somewhere that the Sky stuff is encoded in such a way that this is not possible but I'm no techie

The abosulte nuts. Video gave up and toyed with buying a DVD recorder but decided against that (cost) and went with Sky+. Best thing since sliced bread.

By the way where can you get the Remote IR from as we have SKy pipped to all the TV's in the house but have to go down stairs to change channels etc

I've a sky+ box and a dvd recorder. Its "possible" to record from the sky box onto the dvd then transfer this to a PC - but its a long winded way of doing it.

oh, and get it. it ROCKS

You can buy remotes via the 'Sky Buy' pages on the Sky website £20 + delivery from memory.

I'm currently trying to persuade the missus into this very worthwhile investment. A mate of mine has been singing its praises for some time now, mainly due to the fact that he can pause the TV at any given moment, and masturbate furiously to his hearts content. Some of those Nivea ad's can really do the trick, apparently.
