sky commentators shocked at Brighton supporters leaving early

I know nsc has discussed this before. But we must have pretty light weight supporters if commentators are mentioning it

On 85 mins it seemed thousands of your fans were streaming out, I couldnt believe it, you were only 1-0 down with 5 mins left plus injury time. Shocking, truly shocking.

This, it was an absolute joke how they organised the post match lewes train queues, by a very long way the worst bit of organisation for any Amex home match so far. Totally clueless.

I quite agree. I waited for half an hour at Falmer and another half an hour at Lewes, to get to Seaford.

I left on 88 mins because our team was an embarrassment! Diabolical performance - They let themselves down...

Shocking attitude. Our best season since 1991 deserves better fans than your good self. IMHO of course.

Lets get this into perspective. Poor performance. Very disappointing result. Second goal goes in a few minutes left.

That was when fans round us started to stream out. They had a choice. Stay to the end watching Palace celebrate and applaud our team for a great season while knowing they would have to queue for a long time for the trains. Or, get out and have a chance of getting home much earlier.

It was a bad performance and everyone was disappointed. However the reason it happened was our transport system. That alone makes us different to other clubs and have great support. I don't agree with people leaving early but I know why it happened. Maybe our transport system will always be a problem in such a situation.

I am working today and I stayed and clapped all the players off the pitch - arrived home in seaford 23.45 (a load of us making our way to the train were made to wait to one side while the palarse were escorted to the 'palace special') so I do understand why many left early - it wasn't in disgust, they just need to get home at a sensible time anand for a Monday evening there were lots of youngsters at the match too

Good on you mate. i woke up at 4.30 this morning to watch the game opn a shitty stream then went to work all day. I would have loved to have been at the game to have the chance to leave early.

I don't normally complain about those leaving early, each to their own and all that. However this was a huge game with the world watching and it was embarrassing that our fans couldn"t stay to the end to support the team. i wonder if it will be those supporters complaining about a lack of loyalty if our players leave in the summer.

Poor show

People around me left en masse when second goal went - still 7 minutes of play left - anything could have happened. (it didn't but who knows?)

Maybe if they get the transport trains buses sorted out people may stay till the end!! if i leave at full time i have 30 min wait at falmer then a 30 min wait at brighton to get a train to shoreham then a 30 min walk home . Somepeople get up at 5 to go to work also i pay for my ticket and can leave when i like

Although I have watched many games at the Albion for over thirty five years and was there in 1983 for the whole FA cup run I have only ever had a season ticket for the last two seasons , In many peoples eyes this makes me a ``Plastic`` or a ``JCL``
As I watched the north stand empty before my eyes , I stayed to applaud the team for what has been a fantastic season and I could feel my ``JCL`` status diluting away.
Many defend their premature desertion as `to painfull to face in front of celebrating Palace fans` but that is a bit of a sing when your winning mentality..
No one measures the value a football team by how pissed off they are if they loose...a good team fights to the last second and it can pay off as we have seen at Watford and Brentford and the value of a teams fans is measured in the same way....
To those die hard fans that did get behind their team from start to finish and have been there throughout the history then hats off to you and be assured that some of the plastics and JCL's are joining you and feeling the pain....```seagulls```....seagulls....

Hour at Falmer for us the idiot on the tannoy was even tell people not the get onto the Lewes only train if you were travelling to Eastbourne :tosser: You could quite clearly see there was hardly anybody on the platform for the five to ten train yet the queue was back the Amex side of the slope.

And all this crap about lack of rolling stock yet they managed to lay on a 12 coach train for 200 Palace fans

I was on the Lewes platform when the Palace train came through. The first ten coaches were empty and the back two were packed solid.

Commentators have dedicated car spaces, possibly drivers, and a job to do beyond the end of the game.Home supporters had just witnessed an inept display against a goodish team who put more in - they wanted to get home. Not many commentators are to be seen queueing in the throng down to the station and shoe horning themselves into a packed train into town/Lewes. It's dead easy to make such comments when it's comfy for the Fourth Estate.

You can judge a teams fans by how they react when things go wrong, not when everything is going well.

Supporters support their team win lose or draw, what you are describing is fans or customers. Supporters are rarer and rarer these days because they are treated like fans or customers. A sad reflection of the modern game.

We got beat 2-0 by our biggest rivals in a very important game, are they realy suprised many did not want to have to endure watching and listening to the away end rubbing our noses in it?

We gave tremondous backing to the team tonight maybe they should be concentrating on the tactics and attitute on the pitch.

This. The fans did their bit as requested but the team and Gus didn't. I left when the second goal went in as I'm not going to stand there and watch Palace take the plaudits. During the season we have only ever left when the final whistle goes except for the Wolves game when we stayed and applauded the players.

The ones who deserted early due to travel issues, would they have left so soon if Brighton were 2-0 up?

My apologies to everyone on here, to Gus, the team & all those who stuck it out. I have never left the Amex until the last player had left the pitch. On occasions I've had to wait 45 mins in the rain in the bus queue. But last night my 18 year old Daughter suggested we leave because SHE could not stand watching the palace supporters so happy.
Again a sincere apology to all.

Of course they are shocked, their bellies are full of prawn sandwiches and are looking forward to their post match drink, waitress served of course.

Stroll out to their executive car with preferential parking and likely driver and a leisurely drive back to their gated house.

Why would anyone of us want to leave early .... ??
