... driving 150 mile round trip to a shithole in Kent!

Days like today make you realise how far this club has come.

Listen to the opening lyrics of this 80s cheesy classic, any better song to sum up our journey?

Try and find one, bet you can't :rave:

Is your commute longer now?

Very true caveman, but a lot of the younger/new fans wont truly appreciate the good times, because the never witnessed the bad times.

My son is 11 so didn't see 'the bad times' but I can guarantee he appreciates the good times. A list of attendance at Gillingham, Withdean and the village of Mellor doesn't give anyone the right to be more appreciative of the 2012 Albion experience than anyone else.

We ALL f***ing love it!

Sacrilege to even mention it but the latter years at the Goldstone were nothing to shout home about with weeds growing through the concrete on the terraces and the walls of the stands rusting about our ears.................it's been a long journey and one that has had its ups as well as its downs. I just can't think of any point along the way - even recently - when I could truly have imagined that we would be where we are today.

Well said!! Goldstone yrs were magical in a sentimental sense but the realism of it was that the club was dying and Withdean only held any value because of some fabulous drama.

Where we are today though is more magical in my books

Nope, there are plenty of people at the Amex who think Poyet is shit and the team is shit. Theyre not all young though.

Not the real one
I miss it about as much as I miss having hemorrhoids.

Apart from many other bad points and let's be honest, a few good points. The one thing I hated most about withdean was after the initial GOSBTS and the first 30seconds of crowd encouragement, it then descended into 2 or 3 people trying to start songs in vain and then it really hit you what a f***ing shambles Archer and Stanley had left us in.

The Amex and the set up we have now is a million miles from that. In no small part by Knight and Perry. I really admire and appreciate DK. I know there are alot of others that helped and bailed us out along the way but that man really stayed at it through thick and thin to bring us to the point we are at now. How lucky we were that people like DK and MP were keeping a sinking ship afloat. Cheers guys!

Hiney. Stop talking bollocks you flid. Attendance at Withdean in the snow and pissing rain, the joy of the catering, the massive queue outside the bogs at half time, the utter majesty of watching us concede in the last minute AGAIN from the vantage point of the running track next to the disabled section under the clock...the majesty of Hartys phone in on the way home, the smells the sights the laughter and tears of Withdean...how the f*** can the JCLs appreciate what it is to bleed blue and white unless they have SUFFERED for the Albion? You MONG..your son is a plastic and you, sir, are a traitor. To think I once admired you from afar, I would shuffle near to you at Roots Hall or Brisbane road to listen to your witty repartee and 70s playground abuse. You JOEY.

Withdean was f***ing BRILLIANT at times.

Certainly some occasions that got the blood pumping, more so than the school sports day it was designed for (unless your child was competing).

We all f***ing love it!, yes, including myself. For any football club to turn things around like Brighton have, all from fan power is amazing, an amazing fight, so the fans that went through trips to the priestfield and trips to the withdean, those fans that rode the rollercoster will appreciate trips to the amex a little bit more, that's all.
