Good riddance. Don't need a presenter. Just show highlights for the whole show.

Not everything is the Tories fault 😂

BBC is cutting all over the place to save money
Cutting yes, because the Tories strangled it by stealth, ie freezing the licence at a time of considerable inflation.

In the era of disinformation strong public service broadcasting is more important than ever.

The licence is already unpopular and there is a growing number of people that resent paying it now as there much better TV is available elsewhere.

People are also in a cost of living crisis, so they should have higher bills to pay for the BBC?

BBC is fine, has its place TMS is a must, but it needs to cut its cloth in a world where options are much better than what they are offering most of the time.

Is it because he did that weird "I'm a believer" skit before they went on to discuss Baleba's contribution on Saturday.

I had no idea Lineker and Shearer were admirers of mine....

When you think about it, he is probably on screen for a combined 3 minutes or something per week, yet the hatred of him by some is hilarious.

Saying that, it's often the same people who complain about the licence fee which is up there as one of the WEIRDEST things people get funny about.

The licence fee is £14 a month.

Similar levels of access for:
Netflix £17.99
Apple TV £8.99
Disney + £12.99
Prime £8
SKy £19

I think the price is about right, in comparison to the other players in the market.

Isn’t it.

Suspect the licence fee is woke now? Will confirm once I’ve checked the relevant agenda.

I'm quite happy to pay it, I think I get decent use out of it via Sounds alone.

The difference is the services you mention above is personal choice.

Huh? The BBC isn’t good value? Okay.

“The BBC is fine..”

The BBC is magnificent. One of the finest British institutions. If not THE finest.

“fine” 🤣.

Give your head a wobble.

Public service broadcasting is one of few things we're world beating at and it still highly regarded around the world, it helps underpin democracy at home and abroad and is a great instrument of soft power. Yet look at how the previous government hollowed out the World Service.

The alternative, just look at America and where that takes you...
