"Sir Clive claims the credit for securing Burley"
PHILIP DORWARD

Out of the frying pan and into the fire, George Burley's managerial career took another twist yesterday when he became head coach of Southampton at the behest of ex-England rugby coach Sir Clive Woodward, who said he has at last found a man with whom he can work.

he'll take credit for anything - at last a man I can work with

Good tactician.... for rugby

However, the world cup win in 2003 wasn't a true reflection of his skills, as we had a world cup winning team already

Be good to see how he does at Southampton

And do you follow rugby peveseagull? if so, how do you rate Andy Robinson?

He assembled the team to win the world cup. We rarely beat the southern Hemisphere, particularly on their turf and Woodward deserves credit for that. Although he did have a management team of about 30!! So they probably helped as well

He would be good at QPR. They wanted to use the rough tactics and kept kicking over the posts. Made for each other. One big c**t and one big c**t of a club. Next to P****e they are made for each other.
