One man came.
One game played.
Partnered Ben White in central defence.
Albion legendary status denied.

Breathtaking showreel….
He is still playing so there is still some hope…..
I saw Paul Flood play loads of times.Top work. He was almost always an unused sub. Back in the day when we were allowed only one sub, and the sub could be used only if a player suffered a life-threatening injury.
Your description in the opening post was insufficient to rule out either U21 appearance or even Women’s team appearances. Forren needed the mention.I’m fairly certain Forren never made ANY first team appearances for the Albion (or for Southampton in his spell there, as it goes!).
if he played a game with Ben White it can only have been an EFL trophy game - not a first team one.
I don't remember another Sanchez, you could mean David Gonzalez? Awful keeper who had somehow spent about 4 years at Man City who we picked up after they terminated his contract. Not sure he definitely just played once but Sanchez,no not that one I saw another keeper called Sanchez play for us that absolutely flew like a salmon between the posts, sadly for us and him the ball had already been in the net for 5 seconds upon take off, quite possibly the most hapless display I've ever seen from a Brighton and Hove Albion keeper
I'd totally forgotten about him. That's a good shout.Mark Wright in 2009.
Signed in the summer, made 3 appearances then sold in the same window.
Following on from the suggestion of Toko Nzuzi (one single appearance, away to Burton in the 2014/15 Capitol One Cup) in the 'FLAIR' thread, what other 'One cap' Albion careers have you been there to witness?
Note that anyone who has featured just once, but is still at the club (Josh Duffus, for example) does not count.
Off the top of my head, I was there for:
Ali Al Habsi: Bournemouth 3-2 Brighton, Championship, 01.11.2014
Scott Chamberlain: Bristol City 2-0 Brighton, JPT semi final, 23.01.2007 (subbed on, 72 minutes)
Shane McFaul: Brighton 3-0 Crewe, L1, 02.02.2008 (subbed on, 90 minutes). Glenn Murray's two-goal Albion debut, no less.
I make you correct. If the Watford game was his debut (and it definitely was) then it was impossible for him to have played four times, as we only played twice more before his short-term contract expired at the end of the season. The game in between Watford and Barnsley was a 1-1 draw at home to Birmingham (which a quick search suggests Peter Brezovan played in).I don't remember another Sanchez, you could mean David Gonzalez? Awful keeper who had somehow spent about 4 years at Man City who we picked up after they terminated his contract.
Played twice for us (wiki has him listed as making 4 appearances but I'm sure he only played 2 games), a 2-2 home draw against Watford and a 0-0 draw away to Barnsley at the end of our first season at the Amex. He then returned a few games into the following season playing for Barnsley as we won 5-1, he never played for them again.
Alastair John was a young winger, I think on loan from Charlton (?)Referring to my spreadsheet (oh yes I have a spreadsheet), players that I have seen play only once are (with actual appearances in brackets);
Mitch Walker (1)
Ross Flitney (3)
Mikkel Anderson (5)
David Gonzalez (4)
Stuart Jones (3)
Alistair John (4)
Anton Rodgers (1)
Ben Sampayo (1)
Dan Beck (?)
Rob Hunt (1)
Sam Adekugbe (3)
Surprised by the number of times Anderson and Gonzales actually played for us (that's if Wikipedia is to be believed).
Don’t even recall who Alistair John was.
Only player I couldn’t find stats on was Dan Beck so gawd knows when I actually saw him play a game.
On wikipedia there is a photo of him in Albion kit playing a game against Spurs. Did we have a friendly against them at some point? I'm guessing he played in that.Roland Bergkamp is officially a ZERO capped Brighton player, but I could've sworn I saw him? Pre-season perhaps?
Actually there's 'Roland Bergkamp' thread on here where someone mentions him playing in a friendly at Burgess Hill as well.Roland Bergkamp is officially a ZERO capped Brighton player, but I could've sworn I saw him? Pre-season perhaps?
Emeka Ifijagwa (spelling definitely wrong). Don't think he scored but did have an absolute bullet shot that would have torn the net. I think the issue was visa-related not registration otherwise we would have been punished for playing him. Some guy who played away at Barnet in late 90s but wasn’t properly registered. Seem to recall he had Justin Fashanu as an agent or friend. Think he might have scored as well.
he was signed from an Australian side. He played in that World Club Championship that Man United skipped the FA Cup forWe signed a keeper called Chris Jones Australian keeper possibly from Non-league at the end of the 2001/2 season think he played 1 game but can’t find anything on wiki.
