Definitely improved according to a mate who played there recently. Was appalling last year which is why we switched to the Dyke

I played yesterday. The greens are back to normal but they have done a load of drainage work so some fairways are now rubbish especially on the Valley course.
On the plus side it's still not very busy so it's quick to get round.

Why did it suffer so much, long term poor greens management, lack of budget and staff???

Played about 6 weeks ago. Greens were awful as had been hollow-tined and sanded (which is acceptable, has to be done) but the fairways were mostly terrible. Lots of weeds, bare patches and the like - really poor. Only plus side is that is was very quiet and very cheap (£25 for a Saturday afternoon). Oh and the clubhouse stopped doing food at 4pm too.

It's a bit of a sad case compared to a few years ago to be honest.

Anyone played recently ? Has the condition improved since last year when it was pretty bad.

Played there last Thursday ( yes it was hot !!! ). Greens were in good condition, some of the fairways patchy and bare in places on sun drenched course. But for £20 after 2pm it was good value.
