I stumbled across the North Stand Chat and its a bit like stumbling across an arctic waste for 10 years, falling into a crevass and suddenly finding a thousand other like souls.
I spent many years travelling to and from South Africa never knowing that the legendary Kit Napier was in Durban. Chauffeurs always asked me which team I supported and their bemusement at "Brightion and Hove Albion" was constant. The 60s was a golden era of just plain enjoyment. I went to Uni in Manchester 1967 only to see a 0-0 draw against Arsenal with Denis Law and Ian Ure sent off. I yearned for the east terrace of the Goldstone, you can keep the Stretford End. Does anyone else remember the friendly against Flamingo of Brazil in about 1960-62?
