I wouldn't even dare to mention Tokio Hotel - they may have some popularity but they're in no way good. Its mostly electronic - both early stuff (Kraftwerk et al), and modern EDM (van Dyk, Schulz, Maas, etc) where my experience would lie, and where there is very high quality music coming out.

Kraftwerk are BRILLIANT. As were Neu! But I wouldn't go so far as saying they are far beyond the UK, there is plenty good coming from here and in the US when it comes to the Krautrock/Motorik style electro.

Trance. UK has one large active act, of which one member (of three) is Finnish; Germany's include two of the top ten DJ/producers in the world...

Producer is a very subjective term. In my eyes the best in the world is Brian Eno, then probably Nigel Godrich, then Dr Dre.

You have interpreted the word NO though. He said (sarcasticly) that we should be paying attention to Germany's MANY good musicians etc.

No one here has said they have NO good musicians. I certainly wouldn't say that.

It's a bit like 'Superstar' DJs, who earn fortunes for playing other peoples records!

100% of people who claim theres no talent and creativity in DJing are incapable of doing it themselves. Additionally, there is only one "Superstar DJ" who doesn't produce his own music, which is Eddie Haliwell.
