He’s going to AFCON, so no.I see Fabio Silva has joined the Gers on loan for the rest of the season - maybe a return in the offing for Sima?

Might not be now. Injured. He’s going to AFCON, so no.
He could return regardless of AFCON/injuryMight not be now. Injured.
January is looking better and better …Mitoma not going to the AFC because of injury, Sima not going to AFCON because of injury, Adingra out of AFCON because of injury …Might not be now. Injured.
if a player is named in a squad (Sima and Adingra both are) and thry are withdrawn through injury, then you’re generally not permitted to play them until after the tournament has finished.January is looking better and better …Mitoma not going to the AFC because of injury, Sima not going to AFCON because of injury, Adingra out of AFCON because of injury …
That’s it - these injuries are really covering up a left-wing and right wing conspiracy to solve our line-up problems in
January ….I knew it!

Really!? Makes no sense at allif a player is named in a squad (Sima and Adingra both are) and thry are withdrawn through injury, then you’re generally not permitted to play them until after the tournament has finished.
This has been my understanding before this tournament.Really!? Makes no sense at all
?
Is this a pl rule?
What if the team they are playing for is out?
I don't recall this ever happening and to be honest doesn't sound right.
FIFA not PL. and it does make sense. it is to stop clubs pulling players out for phantom injuries.Really!? Makes no sense at all
Sounds absolutely mad. Surely their employer (their club) should have the final say on if they will allow their employee leave to play for another team.if a player is named in a squad (Sima and Adingra both are) and thry are withdrawn through injury, then you’re generally not permitted to play them until after the tournament has finished.

If you asked for leave from your work to go and work for another company for a month and they refused to let you why on earth would you be banned from working!?
Luckily Giggs was only ever injured for friendliesFIFA not PL. and it does make sense. it is to stop clubs pulling players out for phantom injuries.
The tournament, or the player's country's involvement in the tournament?if a player is named in a squad (Sima and Adingra both are) and thry are withdrawn through injury, then you’re generally not permitted to play them until after the tournament has finished.

How is that legally inforcable though?Japan haven’t named their squad yet so as Mitoma is unlikely to be named does that mean he could play for us if he makes a quicker than expected recovery, as effectively won’t have withdrawn from the squad. Unless Japan want to assess the injury themselves so call him up anyway.
FIFA rules mean clubs have to release players for international duty. Federations can even ask for injured players to report for duty for assessment by their own medical staff. Of course this isn’t normally an issue as PL games don’t happen the same time as most internationals, but the AFCON and Asia Cup take place over a month so clash with PL game. To protect the integrity of tournaments and to stop clubs pulling players cause they don’t want to lose them from vital games, FIFA will ban players that withdraw through injury from playing for their clubs until the tournament is over.
We no longer have to take note of EU rulings. We are all free now.The recent EU court ruling will surely embolden a club to challenge this rule sooner or later.
What about Ivory Coast? Surely neither will be named in their squads as they can replace them before the tournament…?Japan haven’t named their squad yet so as Mitoma is unlikely to be named does that mean he could play for us if he makes a quicker than expected recovery, as effectively won’t have withdrawn from the squad. Because football at the moment is governed by FIFA, they set the rules, federations and clubs have to abide by those rules. Until such times as it’s legally challenged there is nothing that can be done. Which is why governments and the EU are trying to put in more regulatory bodies to stop what is basically a monopoly, but that’s still a long way off and likely to meet a lot of resistance. How is that legally inforcable though?

two of these teams we found very hard to breakdown so it might not be a case of its only Burnley or Sheffield united....Adingra did get a full season at USG including European football though right ? And 3 of his goals were against Sheffield Utd, Burnley & Luton. Like I say he’s been good, but I hope there’s more to come especially in bigger games
